⚡ How do I train for an Ironman in my 40s
📢 I am participating in my 5th Ironman 70.3 next week, and I usually get a lot of questions about why I am so passionate about racing an Ironman 70.3, so here it is!
An Ironman 70.3 race refers to the total distance in miles (113km): 1.9KM swimming – 90k cycling – 21.1k running.
◼ To make it easier, I found a parallel between engaging in an Ironman 70.3 race and my day-to-day work. You need strong dedication, a well-thought-out strategy, a lot of perseverance, and, finally, you experience significant personal growth.
◼ Similarly to business, I set objectives for my race, establish a plan, work on my preparation to build up my endurance while maintaining resilience. Even though it can be solitary, an Ironman is very similar to business, and collaboration is key; it's teamwork
◼ For me, partnering with a buddy is key: I have two friends racing with me in Geelong on Sunday, 24th. This has been a game-changer as we could maintain a good level of motivation and team spirit
Sports and business have a lot of similarities, providing ongoing opportunities for growth and development. My commitment to completing an Ironman helps me a lot in my professional development."
