🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I'm happy to share that our latest research article, "Structural and Compositional Analysis of CZTSSe Thin Films by Varying S/(S+Se) Ratio," has just been published. In this study, we present a novel synthesis approach for Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) thin films, which are promising candidates for photovoltaic applications due to their composition of earth-abundant, environmentally friendly elements. #CPFDSoftware announced that it has entered into a software licensing agreement with Simonpietri Enterprises LLC to model gasification reactions to generate clean #hydrogen fuel out of construction and demolition debris solid wastes. This modeling will be accomplished as part of SEL’s waste #gasification work under a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) competitive subrecipient agreement with the University of North Dakota Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC), to demonstrate hydrogen production from high-volume construction and demolition wastes. Some insightful reflections from Climeworks team on their journey developing the FOAK (First of a Kind) DAC technology at Ocra. Overcoming various engineering and materials related challenges, they achieved a significant 2/3rd reduction in CO2 removal capacity from 3000 tonnes to 1000 tonnes annually. Key hurdles included issues with sorbent material quality, increased equipment downtime, and recovery losses. Challenges like these are common for hardware-based technologies like DAC and EVs, demanding substantial time, energy, and effort to optimize manufacturing output. A crucial question emerges: How swiftly can Climeworks enhance throughput to achieve CO2 removal closer to design capacity levels while cutting down on capital and operational expenses? This milestone will be an inflection point for Climeworks and the overall DAC industry. Climeworks mentions that their system can ultimately achieve less than 10% of overall life cycle emissions. The good news is that OCRA has already achieved life cycle emissions of 20-25%, meaning it will only re-emit 20-25% of the CO2 it removes through operations, construction, and recycling.
