Developing an Ecosystem Begins with Mapping It, which Begins with People More than anything else, good business, or for that matter, any successful endeavor, is about people. This is true for every sector and any type of business, but it is particularly significant in the fast-paced, competitive, entrepreneurial, and interconnected world of technology, and especially when speaking of startups. As such, when I took the reins of the HLS and Defense Cluster and was tasked with stimulating the cluster’s economic growth, I first set out to map the relevant players in the cluster’s ecosystem, and in particular, the key people within these organizations. For this, among others, I turned to well-established and well-regarded sites that provide invaluable information about Israel’s high-tech market. Beyond the reports and the data, there is nothing better than speaking with these individuals, each of whom maintains a robust network and can connect you to other players and organizations. At the end of the day, Israel is a small country, where everyone knows someone, and those “someone's” work with the companies and entities that make up the map of the cluster’s ecosystem. #ecosystem #mapping #networking
