"When we lose someone, our world feels as if it’s falling apart. We may think we cannot carry on with this broken heart. We search for a reason and try to understand. The truth is God created us and at any time can reach down for our hand. There may not be a warning, we won’t know where or when. The only thing we can be certain of is we will see our loved one again." Today is #NationalOverdoseAwarenessDay2024, a day to remember those we have lost and spread awareness about #overdose. Members of the Banyan Corporate team wore purple and brought pictures of their loved ones lost to overdose. We were lead in prayer by Anthony Acampora, our National Director of Faith-Based Services, who began the ceremony with the above poem. On behalf of Banyan Treatment Centers, we are also proud to have donated to Comfort Zone Camp, a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that transforms the lives of children who have lost a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or significant person to overdose.
