How Moms of Addicts Reclaim Control of Their Child’s Crisis Situations to Restore Peace I peacefully regained control of my addict child’s ‘crisis situations’ by using this '4 step decision process' to restore my health again. My heart would break every time I got a late night call. My world would spin out of control as I dropped everything to ‘rescue him’. Even when deep down I knew I was doing him no good long term by ‘bailing him out’ again. Everyone close to me would repeat the same thing: “Set boundaries” and “don’t enable.” But even when I set boundaries and rules - nothing changed. But his struggles not only controlled his life… they controlled mine. I searched for a solution everywhere. And when I was out of options, I took a step back, and developed my own process. Then I tested it on my son Eric. The next time he called with a new ‘emergency’, I was able to take back control of the situation. And finally the situation actually CHANGED. I felt in control. I regained power over the situation. I no longer faced the manipulation and the chaos. This entire process started by pausing and making a decision on what to do by asking myself a set of 4 questions. This process also turned into the catalyst for my son turning his life around. Today he has a promising career and a loving relationship with a wonderful lady. I’m so proud. And according to my son, it was the shift in ME that allowed HIM to choose recovery. After seeing this worked for me and him, I’m convinced of this: This is the strongest love a mother can offer. And because I’m so passionate about bringing change to even more lives… I’ve created a quick, digestible blueprint that walks you through this 4 step process.
