𝙾𝙻𝙸𝚅𝙴² Terroir. The idea comes from some of the classic elements of the Tuscanian territory: olives & citrus. Five years ago, this cocktail was thought for a Sabatini Gin competition where it was requested to highlight local aromas. Tuscan Olives, entirely spread all along the Mediterranean area, are well-known for their quality and distinctive smell and taste; they have been used in 3 different ways: Fat-Washing, Maceration, and Aromatizing. In terms of citrus, a blend of lemon, orange, and clementine has been used to make a bitter-sweet jam. And last touch but not least, micro fennel flower to give that hint of mild anise. The word “terroir”, which is a term most commonly used within the winemaking world, is derived from the French word “terre” which means land. While a wine with good “terroir” will impart certain flavors, aromas, and a richness that is unique to its location, climate, and growing and harvest conditions, so does olive oil.
