That was a thoroughly enjoyable and incredibly inspiring OpenAI Dev Days keynote. Some thoughts: 1. The pace of innovation inside of OpenAI is literally mindblowing. 2. They are balancing the focus on developers and end users in a unique way. 3. They understand how to NOT make price a barrier to entry. 4. Satya Nadella was using Sam Altman as a way to sell Microsoft and not the other way around. That's a tectonic shift. 5. The GPTs announcement is a game changer for all industries. My quick takeaways from today’s OpenAI DevDay Keynotes: 🎁 The announcement of GPTs will unleash a surge of creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation in the new ecosystem. No tech background needed. All you need are use cases. Will the significance of this impact be comparable to the App Store announcement 16 years ago? Interesting coincidence of the date - 06/11 for Apple App Store and 11/06 for GPTs (today) 💳 The price is going down fast! Isn’t that faster than Moore’s Law or Wright’s Law indicates? Just a year ago, marking the post-pandemic era, the debut of ChatGPT amazed the world. Since then, every update from OpenAI has continued to surprise us, making even the tech giants seem sluggish and less intelligent by comparison. Beyond the usual quantitative enhancements—such as increased speed and volume—perhaps the most significant qualitative change is the advent of specialized GPTs. Envision a 'GPT Store' filled with a variety of personalized, customizable GPTs, much like a mobile app marketplace. Could the integrated deployment of these diverse, commoditized GPTs be a pivotal step towards achieving AGI and ASI? It’s uncertain. What is clear is that their updates have become some of the most exciting and pivotal news globally, consistently astounding us.

OpenAI continues to push the envelope leveraging OpenAI’s model innovation and supported by Microsoft ‘s infrastructure. If you missed OpenAI’s Dev Day, I recommend watching this video. What’s new and why it matters? - #gpt4turbo has been enhanced with #voiceprompting, larger context (128k context window, which is four times the size of GPT-4’s and the largest context window of any commercially available model, surpassing even Anthropic’s Claude 2), function calling, finer-tuning - the platform now accepts images as inputs, Text-to-speech, and creates images through #dalle3 - Cut off date has been increased to April 2023 meaning it has a more recent knowledge base and it can provide realtime information by leveraging Bing search But the most transformative announcement in my view is the launch of Assistant API. This will be #aiassistants what the Apple Store was to app development.
