Retailers are facing a lot of challenges when it comes to shrink these days, with a lot of focus going to ORC and shoplifting. But there’s another growing problem gaining attention: Return fraud. While it’s not a new issue, a recent report by the National Retail Federation found that return fraud cost retailers $101.91 billion last year – an increase of 20% year over year.  At NRF Big Show, Saks Fifth Avenue CEO Marc Metrick said that fraudulent “merchandise not received” complaints at their company have more than doubled over the past several years.
