Starting Endometriosis UK awareness month with a chat on the Golf Ireland podcast about all things Endo & IVF as a woman in sport. Thank you Valerie Wheeler for taking the time to interview me and being so considered in your questions. 1 in 10 women women worldwide suffer with endometriosis and on average it takes 7-8 years to diagnose. An The R&A study in March 2022 revealed that there are now 1.6 million female golfers in the UK & Ireland - looking at that figure alone that would be 160,000 females suffering - some quite possibly in silence due to being misdiagnosed and not being given the proper support. We need to see change across all sports in how we educate and support our colleagues and athletes (both professional and amateur). Putting in place the right support in the workplace and education on this topic can help remove the stigma and support women through what can be stressful time. As always, a huge thank you on my part to my employer Legends Tour. Also to DP World Tour and The R&A when I have volunteered at events. Set in London, Paris, Italy, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Malibu, the rides appear, at times, to be both impossible as well as exhausting but, for one or two of the horsemen, reaching the finishing line unscathed remains a probability. Whether the winner is Leo, Lulu, Lobie or Mae, depends on how capable they are when fisticuffs have no alternative but to become the most inventive of reparations and best friends become beast friends.
