World Youth Skills Day, celebrated on 15 July, focuses this year on “Skilling teachers, trainers and youth for a transformative future”. This emphasizes the importance of equipping young individuals with the necessary skills set to transition successfully into the workforce and actively bring value to their companies and communities. Our Human Resources Director, David Legrigore, explains how BCP Bank (Mauritius) onboards young talents and ensures that they embrace their new roles and thrive in their new environment. “Recognising the unparalleled ability of young people to drive #change and #transformation, we also understand that joining a new organization can be both exciting and challenging for them. That’s why we have developed a comprehensive onboarding program that goes beyond just introducing them to their roles. They are also provided with on-the-job training and accompaniment that facilitates integration.”  Job fairs and other similar networking events also prove to be great talent pools, says David, who further emphasizes that recruiting young university graduates and helping them refine their skills set has been a proven solution for the labor market mismatch . “We offer our young recruits technical and soft skills workshops, as well as opportunities to shadow seasoned professionals.” At BCP Bank (Mauritius), young talents are also encouraged to engage in various other activities such as corporate social responsibility initiatives, which promote collaboration. “This not only helps them embrace our work culture, but also empowers them and unlocks their potential.”⚡ #WorldYouthSkillsDay #EmpoweringYouth #BCPBankMauritius
