In a heartwarming collaboration between education and healthcare, Penn High School robotics students continue to demonstrate how assisted technology can improve the lives of patients served at Beacon Health System. Led by coach Kyle Marsh, Penn Robotics students last spring crafted an adaptive video game controller, specifically designed for a patient at our Memorial Children's Therapy Center. It’s not just a gadget, it's a gateway to independence and joy. Jacynda Lavanture brought her son, Richard, to receive this device from the students themselves. Moments like these remind us of the incredible impact community partnerships have. Thanks to Beacon physical therapist Jeff Jasinski, who has been fostering this unique collaboration between the students and our families. And thanks to Penn Robotics students and coaches for your time, talents and most of all, your big hearts.

🌟🌍 Twinkle Toys Pledges to Illuminate Minds with Environmental Education 🌳💡 We're proud to announce the launch of our Social Good Program, a new collaborative endeavorwith European and U.S. schools. At Twinkle Toys, we’re not just about play; we're about making play matter. This program is our pledge to donate our flagship products, including the Ocean Guardians VR, Wildlife Wonders AR Tales, and the Sun Beam Robot Pal, to children who can benefit from them the most. These aren’t just toys; they’re interactive learning tools designed to spark curiosity, empathy, and a deep-seated respect for our natural world among young learners. Poonam Kaur, CEO of Twinkle Toys, shares our vision: "Through our Social Good Program, we’re bringing environmental awareness directly into the hands of children. It's a campaign that grows with them, instilling a sense of responsibility and care for the world they inhabit." Join us as we lay the groundwork for a greener, more compassionate world, fostering innovation in learning and inspiring the bright minds of tomorrow. I seriously cannot get enough of these ideas- which aren’t radical but grounded in research and knowledge but which could truly upend the system that isn’t working for ANYONE. The brilliant Jill Hahn-Jakulski always had us teaching multiple subject which allowed for more wiggle room than most teachers had, I spent more time with my students and we could explore not just subjects but feelings more in depth - I can’t imagine getting to do that on a much bigger scale. #revolution #inclusivebydesign #startfresh #voiceandchoice

Now that the second semester of my Sophomore year is over at Endicott College, I would love to reflect on another project that emerged! As seen previously, I created Five Nights at Gully's for my Visual Programming I class and made another game alongside that for a game development class. I decided to take things up a notch and tackle something new and challenging for myself. Discovering that it was possible to create and use 3D Graphics in LibGDX, I took it upon myself to make a game using 3D Graphics to give myself a deeper understanding of working in three-dimensional space. This proved challenging since unlike your usual game engine, almost everything had to be made from scratch. Project Redhood is a game where you play as Redhood (Grown up Red Riding Hood) who seeks justice for other fairy tale characters, in the game you would encounter villains of other fairy tales. This project serves as a prototype and only includes some levels, as well as a mini-boss fight. Given the amount of time to simultaneously balance learning 3D and delivering a full-fledged project, while being a student-athlete and attending many other classes, I wasn't expecting a full game, but instead something to show my learning experience. I won't go over everything in this post as that would make it extremely long, but I touched up in Blender, Bullet API Physics, Syncing Terrain's Geometric Nodes to the Physics World, Character Controllers & Physics, Animation in Blender (NLA Tracks), Linear Algebraic Concepts with Vectors, Matrixes, and Quaternions. Finally, as I was working in LibGDX, GDX-GLTF, and Mundus, I had some exposure to working in large codebases, reading and understanding what each code block means, and applying it to my own game, and sometimes creating my own frameworks that connect the logic in both codebases. (i.e connecting Bullet Physics with Mundus GameObject). This as a whole strengthened my software engineering skills. I love creating games that bring joy to the people who play or watch them. I'm excited to share summer projects here soon and I hope that everyone enjoys the showcase of Project Redhood attached in the link below! https://lnkd.in/eBm33cix Timestamps: 0:00 Outdoor Level 1:52 Cave Level 3:48 Boss Fight
