🚀 Beaumont Bailey Takes on Google! 🚀 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending an incredible event centered around AI in PropTech, hosted by Google at their stunning offices. The event was a remarkable blend of networking and insightful discussions, highlighted by an exceptional panel featuring: Orian English - Head of Data Analytics and AI Sales at Google Luke Graham -Head of Research at Pi Labs Tim Sparks- Real Estate Project Executive at Google David Richards - Director of Technical Infrastructure at Google The main focus of the event was exploring how startups and scaleups are leveraging AI to revolutionize the real estate and PropTech industry. The discussion provided deep insights into Google's innovative approach to AI in buildings, emphasizing the potential of digital systems and AI to drive project adoption and scaling, despite existing barriers. Key topics included: AI Trends and Implementation Google's Approach to AI in Buildings Preparing for the AI Future One of the standout discussions was about the KGX1 project, Google's upcoming UK headquarters set to open in 2025. Designed by BIG and Heatherwick Studio, this "landscraper" in King's Cross is a testament to Google's unique approach to urban development. The project features: Length: 330m (1,082 ft) Height: Up to eleven stories Office Space: Approximately 80,000 sqm (861,100 sq ft) Main Contractor: Lendlease Capacity: About 7,000 employees Façade: World's largest timber and glass façade, engineered in Germany and the UK, covering approx. 23,300 sqm (250,800 sq ft) A key focus of the KGX1 project is sustainable development through AI. Discussions covered AI solutions to prevent HVAC failures and refrigerant leaks, and tools to monitor rainwater collection systems. The rooftop terraces also incorporate urban heat management, flood risk mitigation, and biodiversity enhancement. The panelists left us with some invaluable takeaways: ⭐ Be adaptable when scaling projects ⭐ Collect and utilize data effectively ⭐ Foster communication between industry players and technology ⭐ Data is the differentiator; its application is crucial Overall, it was a fantastic event, and it was wonderful to connect with so many new and familiar faces.
