🌟 Attention all equipment manufacturers! 🌟 In the diverse world of engineering and construction, clarity is key to successful collaboration. I’m reaching out to suggest a small but significant change to the way we label equipment: Let’s start using “inlet” and “outlet” instead of “supply” and “return”. Why this change? The terms “supply” and “return” are often interpreted differently across our industries. For example, engineers typically label based on water temperatures, whereas contractors might view it from the equipment perspective, leading to confusion about which is which. This discrepancy can cause miscommunication, errors in installation, and operational inefficiencies. By standardizing labels to “inlet” and “outlet”, we can enhance understanding across all stakeholders, ensuring everyone is on the same page and our projects run smoother. Let’s embrace this change for greater efficiency and fewer misunderstandings. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and hopefully seeing this new standard adopted widely! #Engineering #Manufacturing #Construction #InnovationInIndustry

Here is to tell our colleagues, expecially in the operations/maintenance department that their participation in site planning, equipment siting and layout is critical throughout the life cycle of faclity operations. This has become necessary because of modifications that are carriedout even when the plant becomes operational. In most cases, the original spacing philosophy adopted will be breached due to space constraint; thereby exposing plant staff unduly. It is important for the management of process/chemical plant operators to adopt a guideline or standard for siting planning and layout of process equipment, inrespect to the effects of fires, explosions and toxic releases. The adopted table spacing philosophy approach or consequence table approach should be made clear and accessible to relevants persons for monitoring and compliance. I am sometimes worried when operations and maintenance team do not pay critical attention to site planning and equipment layout during engineering and design review workshops, amongst other relevant workshops that is suppose to address siting issues. This table is a reminder that we all must address facility siting and layout issues right from the planning phase of projects. Some of the incidents that defined process safety incidents were devastating and colossal because of issues with congestion and compromise with regards to facility siting and layout. Temporary and permanent trailers and buildings respectively were sited on the pathway of fires, explosions and toxic releases, unknown to the management. Management sometimes focus on the frequencies of process safety incidents as a yardstick to compromised buffer zones originally created during the plants design and site planing phase. Real estate is expensive, however, it is also important to note that human are pricessless.

What are the most important factors when choosing a supplier for either optimizing, expanding, or building a new factory? Is it engineering capabilities? The best equipment for the specific project? Expert counseling throughout the process? Project management skills? Installation capabilities? These questions arise for anyone considering investments in new facilities, energy optimization, or general improvements. If you choose a consulting company, do they understand the optimal scope of your project? If you select a specific equipment supplier, will you get the best solution from start to finish? If you opt for an installation partner, do they possess the necessary design and engineering skills? Maybe. Our customers often start with us on a pre-design assignment. This allows them to evaluate our understanding of their needs, our capabilities, and the feasibility of the project. Based on this initial collaboration, they often choose us to engineer and design the entire project. Whether it involves replacing a single unit or undertaking a greenfield project, we assemble the best team of project engineers, managers, purchasers, and designers. We recommend the most suitable equipment available in the market in a joint evaluation process. If selected, our installation team will take over and stay on-site until everything is operational and the customer is satisfied. During the installation phase, our team collaborates with selected sub-suppliers to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach. Upon project completion, our after-sales team takes over, ready to support you with the right spares and services. Your choice – we deliver. 👷♂️ Have a great summer. 😎 #projectExecution #Engineering #Installation #OptimizedProcess
