🌟 Challenging #genderstereotypes : Embrace Equality and Empowerment! 👉 Have you ever noticed which gender pops into your mind when thinking about a particular toy, job, sport, or color? Gender stereotypes have permeated our culture, and unfortunately, they are a significant driver of gender inequalities. Often, these biases operate unnoticed, yet they impact each one of us, irrespective of gender. ➡️These stereotypes can be confining, limiting our potential and ambitions, influencing our choices when it comes to fields of study, career paths, or even the hobbies we pursue. Let's not forget that some individuals face an even greater burden of stereotypes, particularly those with disabilities or from minority ethnic backgrounds, who may experience multiple layers of stereotyping. 🙏 Each of us has a unique identity, and at the intersections of these identities, discrimination can take on different forms. By perpetuating gender stereotypes, we inadvertently hinder everyone's freedom and potential. But it doesn't have to be this way! #EndGenderStereotypes and pave the way for a more inclusive and empowering future!

The latest figures from Bayer's Sustainability Report 2023 are in and they paint a promising picture of our journey towards our diversity, equity and inclusion goals! We aspire to achieve gender balance at all management levels and have established clear commitments for 2025 and 2030 for further dimensions of diversity, including generations, nationality, career experience, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities, among others. Out of almost 100,000 employees worldwide, 41.7% are women and 58.3% are men. These figures not only reflect our dedication to fostering a diverse workforce but also highlight the stories of individuals who contribute to making #TeamBayer a more inclusive environment every day. From my own perspective, it's incredibly fulfilling to be part of the mission to strive for a DEI environment, as a neurodivergent woman in leadership. June is #PrideMonth, and we at Prolific are proud to celebrate and recognize the importance of this time of year. Pride is a powerful reminder of the history, struggles, and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. In today's world, standing in solidarity and supporting equality is more crucial than ever. 🫶 ❗️Violence and harassment against LGBTQ+ people in Europe have reached a “new high” in the past few years, according to a survey published last week by the European Union’s rights agency. ❗️In the US, 90% of LGBTQ+ young people said their well-being was negatively impacted due to recent politics. ❗️It's still illegal to be LGBTQ in 64 UN member States. 12 countries have jurisdictions in which the death penalty is imposed or at least a possibility for private, consensual same-sex sexual activity. At Prolific, we’re dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community, both internally for our employees and externally for our customers. Our LGBTQ+ Network provides a safe space for employees to connect, share experiences, and advocate for meaningful change. We: ❤️ Regularly host LGBTQ+ lunch & learns and webinars. ❤️ Run studies to gather and share insights into key topics affecting the LGBTQ+ community. ❤️ Provide company-wide guidance on topics such as inclusive language in the workplace. This June, we’re celebrating Pride with a series of activities, including: 📹 A company webinar: How can I be a better LGBTQ+ ally? 🤝 An LGBTQ+ network meetup. 🎶 A company-wide Pride Playlist. 📝 A Pride Month research study. Rainbow Washing Pride Month #June As we step into June, the month dedicated to celebrating #Pride, it’s important to reflect on how we genuinely support the #LGBTQ+ community. While many companies will change their logos to rainbow colors, we must ask ourselves: Are they celebrating Pride every day, or is it just for show? Tips to Identify Rainbow Washing Initiatives: 1. Temporary Branding Changes: - Look out for companies that change their logos and branding to rainbow colors only during Pride Month but fail to make long-term commitments to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. 2. Lack of Internal Policies: - Be wary of businesses that promote Pride externally but do not have inclusive policies, such as non-discrimination policies, for their employees. 3. No Tangible Support: - Identify companies that use Pride imagery in their marketing but do not donate to LGBTQ+ causes or support LGBTQ+ organisations. 4. Inconsistent Advocacy: - Notice brands that show support during Pride Month but remain silent or support anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and politicians the rest of the year. 5. Superficial Representation: - Watch for campaigns that feature token LGBTQ+ individuals without truly engaging with the community or understanding their issues. 6. Employee Treatment: - Consider the history of companies regarding their treatment of LGBTQ+ employees, despite their public Pride campaigns. 7. Lack of Accountability: - Be mindful of businesses that do not hold themselves accountable for past actions or fail to show transparency in their efforts to support the LGBTQ+ community. Taking a Stand Against 'Pinkwashing'! 🏳️🌈💪 The Pride parade in London is set to implement a game-changing requirement for companies aiming to participate in 2024 - signing up for a year-round LGBTQ+ inclusion program. This move by Pride in London represents a bold step towards combatting 'pinkwashing' and 'rainbow washing', where companies claim LGBTQ+ allyship for profit without fully embodying inclusive practices. 🌷🏢 Businesses now need to enrol in the 'Pride in the City' program, offering LGBTQ+ inclusion training covering crucial topics like workplace transgender and non-binary inclusivity. Dee Llewellyn, director of partnerships and growth at Pride in London, emphasised that this initiative was sparked by community feedback to address corporate 'pinkwashing'. The program aims to elevate standards for businesses participating in the parade, encouraging meaningful year-round progress on LGBTQ+ inclusion rather than token gestures. 🌟💼 In the words of Woosh Raza, executive director at The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), LGBTQ+ inclusion should revolve around people, not just brands.
