I remember some years ago a guy who joined our company through the community. He was employed as a mechanic but had no experience on the field. He claims to be a welder and a mechanic because he has been an apprentice at a roadside car bodywork shop for a year. Because of his inexperience, he always assisted the welders, mechanics, and sandblasters so he could learn, and because he knew our director personally, regardless of the job, he was always on site. After a few months, he claimed to be a jack of all trades, and he said, "I'm a welder, mechanic, and sandblaster. To him, he thought he knew everything, but to us, we knew he had a fair idea of all the trades because he had been assisting them. I took time to advise him to choose a trade and specialize in because you can be with us for two years and still be assisting, and this company will not be there forever. He felt so comfortable and thought he would work there forever, so he never listened to me. After a few months, the numbers on site had to reduce because the task was almost done and they needed only experienced men on site, so he had to go home. This is the sad aspect: after months in the house, he called asking if I could link him up with any job, so I asked him, Are you a mechanic, welder, or sandblaster? He couldn't answer because he realized he just had a fair idea of all the trades but couldn't specialize in a single one. Please don't mess up any opportunity because they are hard to find now. We work to grow, we work to improve, and we work to learn and specialize. It's good to be a jack of all trades, but invest in yourself, learn to be different from your peers, and specialize to make you stand out. Don't feel so comfortable, wake up and learn something new; try to specialize in what you do and think of your next position in the industry you find yourself in.#HUMBLEweld🔥❤️👨🏭

The candidate must be willing and able to learn, have good self-discipline, and be able to work well with others. Our ideal candidate should be able to communicate clearly, read a tape measure, work from heights, and possess the skill or ability to perform Ironwork or Structural Welding. In addition, the candidate should have a mechanical acumen for the assembly of components. Experience and certifications in operating forklifts, aerial lifts, heavy machinery, rigging, welding and/or supervising is a plus. Expanded Assessment Options for Selected Automotive Trades Applicants Removal of Mandatory Offshore Skills Assessment Program Requirement From 1 April 2023, the need for the following automotive trades from qualified applicants/countries of passport were removed from having to have their skills mandatorily assessed through the Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP). Applicants are now able to have their skills assessed through the Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) program. This change means that the applicants have the option of a less expensive documentary evidence only assessment and removes the need to complete an additional technical assessment. To avoid mistakes that can be dangerous to workers, there are set guidelines and requirements that company owners and workers must adhere to. One of these is getting a basic rigging ticket or undergoing basic rigging training. What do you need a rigging ticket for?
