I'll try keep my tone neutral, but I won't lie, the video blew my fuse. Look at the man this YouTuber is asking the question. He asks "What's the one useless skill you've learned?" To that, the boy answers, "I spent some time learning journalism, and now I am a management student, how's that?" How's that? Really? It take guts to pursue and practice journalism. We the journalists aren't the people sitting cowardly in the corner ignoring things that should be reported. It is because of us you're aware of all the stuff happening around you. Literally look at this man, look at his eyes, look at his personality. If you've answered this question in front of a journalist, you would've cried like a... As I said, I'll try to keep my tone neutral. I don't know who this YouTuber is, but for a handful of views on a video, this kind of stuff won't deliver anything but a blow to a community. And I know, even if this post reaches to this YouTuber, he'll simply back off by explaining that he didn't said anything, it was simply a public opinion. And to the "Management" student in the video. If you're watching this video, we call people like yourself "Chaatu." That's what your "bright" future looks like to me. Don't get offended, public opinion you know. #journalism #courage https://lnkd.in/dxZJZMmw

Looking at today's journalism it is shocking to see how false news like Poonam Pandey's death has been covered by most of the top publications. It looks like there is no difference between social media and actual news. I believe journalists should be more responsible in publishing news. A news article can't be a word of mouth, it should be for a fact. If social media posts are being projected as news, then I believe studying journalism has no value. #fakenews #journalism #socialmedia

The fields of #journalism and mass communication have been here for decades, though there was a point in time when the reach of both of these fields was very limited. In the pre-1990s, the stress was mostly on print media. People could only know about any incident, big or small, the next day when it came out in the papers. But thanks to the current rate of technological advancement, the emphasis on journalism and #mass #communication is on the rise. People demand to know the latest news the second it happens. Read on to know how you can be successful in your career by choosing Journalism and Mass Communication as your preferred field of studies. https://lnkd.in/dHnDitgU

Crises ask journalism educators, students and practitioners to grapple with sharing stories about what the future could hold. What will journalists’ jobs look like in five years? Or 25 years? No one in any industry would be able to answer such questions with certainty. But critical events in journalism demand we talk through uncertain futures. And this presents follow-up questions. What are the risks and rewards of talking openly about precarity? How do you start a conversation when the future is so uncertain?
Uncertainty, precarity and burnout should be openly and collectively addressed in journalism schools as a means for re-imagining better ways of working write Trish Audette-Longo Christianna Alexiou "Talking through crises can allow for discussion of alternatives and solutions." https://lnkd.in/e_MxkX44
