The next chapter of Bentley is here. Today we announce that the iconic W12 engine will be succeeded by an all-new, performance-focused V8 hybrid powertrain. This new powertrain will produce the highest power output ever offered in a Bentley, whilst also being the most dynamic, most responsive, and most efficient system in Bentley’s history. The time has come for a new generation of supercars.
With the impressive akebono 10 Pot caliper 🙂
Having no choice I'll probably give this a chance, but please make sure the battery can be replaced easily enough when the time comes. Had real cars been designed to the abysmal level of serviceability the vast majority of hybrids and electric cars are today, car museums wouldn't exist or only consist of static inoperable objects. I might want to drive my 2025 Bentley in 2050 or pass it on as a family heirloom like my currently 50+ year old muscle car collection. Having to disassemble half the car to replace a consumable like the battery misses the point by a country mile.
All because of politicians… I doubt, that this , from an engineering perspective, very complicated design will contribute anything but believing to a better carbon footprint. A w12 is a w12 🥴😎 and most W12 drivers only drive few kilometers Wishing you good luck
E-Mobility is not everything - customers appreciate identity. Bentley needs identity to credibly honor customers' dreams 😉.
I'll miss the smooth torque delivery and effortless acceleration of the iconic W12 sincerely, but as human beings, we are always striving for more... That next step, the next chapter, a whole new endeavour. I'm excited for what the futere holds.🫡🚀🏎️🚗

That’s a funny twist of event. In previous media meetings in the late 2000 when one suggested trying to leave a better carbon print and keeping similar performances through turbocharging the answer was always a Bentley owner paying 300+ thousand pounds should not mind paying for fuel. Better late than never.

3moA very sad day for Bentley W12 aficionado's. Bentley finally having to succumb to the directives of manipulative politicians and eco-warriors expounding the end of life and the planet. The W12 is such a fabulous engine that perfectly suits the Bentley brand, albeit that it was designed by it's parent company VAG. I am sure that the new 4.0Ltr V8 with the hybrid bolt-ons will be equally adopted and loved but the Bentley legacy will sadly be compromised by the inordinate degradation of the battery and the need for this to be replaced.
