You're unique. Now, I know you've heard that a lot. But think about it — out in a sea of professionals, there's only one you. What's one thing you do better than anyone else? Not sure? That's the challenge most of us face. But here's the good part: discovering your unique value isn't as complicated as it seems. Start simple. Think about a day when everything at work, or school, just clicked. What were you doing? That's your hint. No employer wants to know what you have in common with everyone else. They want to know what makes you unique. And your unique value often hides in those moments when you feel most engaged and alive. Pinpoint those, and you're halfway there.

As a smallish P&C team you can still make an outsized impact by over-delivering on a handful of flagship people experiences. As a team light on resources it’s almost impossible to do everything at the standard you want. But by going above and beyond on a couple of unique people experiences that are clearly linked to your org. strategy, you can still make a huge difference. Building a flagship people experience usually requires some co-design, challenging the status quo, doing things differently from your competitors, and taking more risks in what you do. As a small P&C team, you don’t need to do everything to an amazing standard to make a difference. Just find a few parts of the employee experience that you can really create a wow factor around. What’s a cool P&C initiative you’ve recently seen that’s inspired you?

Mistake #3 in employee storytelling: Too much jargon. When you work really hard to develop an EVP or culture tagline, you want to shout it to the rooftops. And you should! But don't fall into the "jargon trap" when creating employee story content. When you say your culture is 'innovative' or 'collaborative' without a real story to back it up, your message risks falling flat. Remember that candidates are looking at lots of different companies when searching for their next role. What makes your innovative culture stand out from every other career site making the same promise? Real employee stories push past the jargon by showing your culture in action. They build trust AND help differentiate you from other organizations. Don't make the mistake of using jargon to describe your culture. The truth is in the stories! (I've been on an anti-jargon crusade for a decade now!). 😊

Your story is unique. I’ll help you tell it through video 🎥 | Founder at The Story Club | Podcast Host 🎙
Video in your business shouldn’t be a passing fancy. It should be part of the culture. Telling your story. Getting your team involved. Showing behind-the-scenes footage. Celebrating wins and showcasing results. Demonstrating the amazing company you’re building. Getting people excited to create them, and giving them the skills around video can be a great upskill or opportunity for them to make their mark! But it’s also essential to understand not everybody will want to be part of that process. (Just starting a TikTok account and forcing the team's involvement is toxic) > Working collaboratively. > Allowing people to be creative. > Giving their work week some variation. All these things are something you can never go wrong with. Video shouldn’t just be something you drag your team through once a year. Or a thing that leaves as quickly as it arrived. Video should be engrained in the culture. Engrained within your brand presence. And familiar with your audience. That’s how to create great video 🎥

We don’t just deliver events; we ensure everything is planned with purpose and every element is executed effortlessly for everyone involved. Recently, we helped the brilliant team at Arco: Experts In Safety deliver an inspiring and immersive internal strategy day at Doncaster Racecourse and Exhibition Centre. It took a lot of work to create something that truly engaged their team around the new brand strategy, but it seems as though it’s paid off, as we’ve received glowing feedback. From the keynote speaker! 👏 Jonathan MacDonald delivered an inspiring and thoughtful keynote, and it seems he was very impressed with our team. He said: “Working with simplybetter was an absolute breeze. An incredibly slick and professional organisation which, frankly, puts other outfits to shame. From the AV to production quality, to the immensely friendly staff, I can’t fault them. It would be a real pleasure to work with them again. If you’re a company considering them, stop looking and just engage with simplybetter immediately. You won’t regret it.” Thank you, Jonathan, we’re blushing… So, you heard it here first – if you’re looking for a strategic partner that can help you plan, implement and deliver every element of a colleague engagement project, then get in touch 📩 #testimonial #HappySupplier #feedback

🎬🎥 Director & Content Creation Specialist | Helping Product Based Businesses and Lifestyle Brands Navigate the Complexities of Video Production
🎥 Just Got Back from an Amazing Shoot and Feeling so Blessed✨ I just got back from an amazing shoot where I had the opportunity to work directly with the client. There's something gratifying about engaging with decision-makers throughout the creative process. Speaking directly to decision-makers enables me to be more efficient and make a bigger impact. We could streamline decisions, reduce costs, and deliver outstanding results in less time. This hands-on collaboration not only enhances the quality of the work but also strengthens the relationship. Originally, we had a full 2-day schedule, but our efficiency turned the second day into a half day, including load out! This hands-on collaboration not only enhanced the quality of the work but I walked away with a better relationship with my client. On a personal note, my wife got to travel with me this time, which made the experience even more special. After work, we explored the city, enjoyed a wonderful dinner, and spent some quality time together. It was the perfect balance of work and play. Now, we go into post-production, aiming to deliver the final cut by the end of the month. Then, it's on to the next one! Experiences like these remind me why I love what I do. I'm feeling so blessed and grateful for this chapter in my life. I realized a long time ago that I had to have a job to make my way through life. So I might as well do something that I enjoy doing. Looking forward to more projects like this in the future! #ClientCollaboration #EfficientWork #CreativeProcess #DirectCommunication #ImpactfulWork #ProductionLife #WorkLifeBalance #PostProduction
