Where to find #Inspiration for architects, engineers, and architecture students or what to read to get inspired?📚 For us, this question is straightforward. As an architectural company, we find inspiration in various ways. Part of it is the architecture of cities or countries we visit, as well as the creative works of other renowned architects. By the way, in our office, there is a small library where you can find various publications on architecture, compilations of award-winning buildings, and simply literature that relaxes and motivates. This decision is an excellent opportunity for our employees to take a break from work and relax their minds, thus spending their time productively. Today we want to share with you a couple of ideas on which books are worth paying attention to for those who are passionate about architecture. Are you already familiar with these books? If so, we would be delighted if you shared your favorite. Share your list of books about architecture in the comments!☀️ #Construction #Architect #Architecture #REMPRO

Designing the Future: A Conversation with Patrik Schumacher https://lnkd.in/ePVb5pkc What does the future of architecture, design, and urbanism look like? How can we create sustainable and livable built environments for everyone? How can we leverage the power of AI, data, and robotics to enhance our design process and outcomes? These are some of the questions we explore in this episode, where we have the privilege of talking to Patrik Schumacher, the principal of Zaha Hadid Architects, one of the most innovative and influential architecture firms in the world. In this episode, we discuss a range of topics related to the future of architecture, design, and urbanism, such as: How emerging markets can learn from the best practices of developed countries in creating sustainable and livable built environments ? How Zaha Hadid Architects uses cross-functional tools from various sectors, such as software development, automobile manufacturing, aircraft design, and cinematography, to achieve visionary and cutting-edge design solutions, and how they collaborate with clients and stakeholders to realize their vision. How the gap between architecture education and practice can be bridged, and what changes are needed in the curriculum and pedagogy to prepare the next generation of architects for the complex and dynamic world of design. How Zaha Hadid Architects incorporates AI into the design process, and how AI helps them achieve efficiency and quality in their work ? How Zaha Hadid Architects balances design concepts and construction realities ? How Zaha Hadid Architects integrates local culture and context into their designs, and how they adapt to the diverse and dynamic needs of global clients and users, while maintaining their signature style and identity ? How Zaha Hadid Architects utilizes data and BIM to inform their decisions throughout the design and construction stages of a building project ? How Zaha Hadid Architects views the role of carbon trading and environmental technology in addressing the climate crisis, and what their vision is for a market-based ecological order, where architecture plays a key role in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing environmental quality. How Zaha Hadid Architects leverages robotic construction to build faster and smarter, and what the implications are for the construction industry and labour market, especially in countries where a large population is dependent on construction labour. How Zaha Hadid Architects assesses productivity and performance, and what methods they recommend to minimize unproductive efforts and enhance efficiency, both at the individual and organizational level. How Zaha Hadid Architects contributes to building a sustainable environment ? Design Strategist | Service Designer | Aligning ways of living and doing business with planetary boundaries & social foundations
I like to draw a bridge between service design and architecture. Maybe it just come from the fact that many of my close relatives are or have been architects, but there are common characteristics: - It massively influences the way we live, cook, eat, learn, work, communicate... - There definitely are both a front end we can see and a back-end for building to operate, connecting it to wider systems - Architects are at the cross-road of designing for usages, while delivering operational requirements and regulations - And they do love a good blueprint too Drawing this bridge is helpful to communicate design principles and their impact in a visual manner: - We can quickly see the impact of a building built around technical requirements alone, on its aspect, the way it bends usages to its design and enforce power, reducing accessibility and inclusivity - Similarly it's pretty easy to identify the impact of designing buildings for scale, cutting down costs, looking to increase ROI - How intial structural investments today, in insulation for instance, deliver more value than quick fixes tomorrow But I also like to draw this bridge because I believe there's a lot to take from the architects approach to design, the mindsets and principles we can learn from, especially when it comes to thinking in systems. Buildings, or at least well designed ones, understand the systems they're part of: cultural, behavioural, but also operationals such as water systems, legal, and most importantly, ecological. This short portrait of Emilio Ambasz is the perfect example of that last point, how the things we design are part of an ecosystem, both as a participant and a support to it, and should be designed accordingly. https://lnkd.in/eNrXFHNm

#Range in Architecture: #generalise + #specialise #What_does_an_architect_do? archi-urbanist The many who work in in precincts and have impact at the massive scale through frameworks that underpin the urban context of the cities in which we live. Did you know that a vast number of urban designers and planners were trained as architects, and many are registered architects. #Architecture is one of the great generalist #professions. Architects #oscillate between broad knowledge and deep specialisation. It is the Architect’s #range that underscores their capability to weave together competing #priorities and #optimize project outcomes across #sustainability, #cost, spatial #utilisation and #experience, #engineering inputs, #lifecycle, #biodiversity, #materiality, #constructability, #aesthetics and engage with the human condition. There are a myriad of archi-career typologies in the profession. There is no one size fits all….. For some of us #LessIsMore. For some of us #LessIsABore….and for others #More&More&MoreisMore. This insta-series uncovers careers in Architecture explored through expanding range.
