Architecture is all about creativity and optimizing design functionality. Adding pops of colors, using innovative techniques, and incorporating various lights and shadows are all different ways to achieve great architecture. But sometimes the best design elements are found in nature. Integrating nature and wildlife into your designs can create more sustainable projects and environments. Not only will these buildings blend beautifully with their surroundings, they'll also bring us closer to nature. Landscape Architecture makes the urban living enjoyable!!
April is World Landscape Architecture Month, an opportunity to celebrate landscape architecture and designed public and private spaces. To celebrate this year’s theme, “Growing Together,” we’re highlighting our recent landscape architecture project at the #Daytona Beach Riverfront Esplanade. The park, which has been the center of the downtown Daytona Beach community for generations, underwent a full revitalization with the addition of a new botanical garden, dog park, running trail, community gathering spaces, and much more. One of the aspects of landscape architecture is the selection of materials that complement the site and the architecture. For a site visit in northern Idaho, we need to consider the natural and cultural features of the area, such as the climate, the vegetation, the soil, the history and the preferences of the clients. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages in terms of durability, aesthetics, maintenance and cost. We should also think about how the materials interact with each other and with the surrounding environment, creating contrast or harmony, texture or smoothness, warmth or coolness. #naturalmaterials #landscapearchitecture #detailsofmaterial

PART 3: HOW TO FIND THE PERIMETER OF A RECTANGLE In the final installment of our series, we demonstrate two methods to calculate the perimeter of a rectangular space - a key skill in resource management and planning. Whether by direct addition or by applying the formula 2x(length+width), the result is a precise 32 feet. This knowledge is vital for professionals in landscaping, architecture, and urban planning. #ResourceManagement #MathInRealLife #PlanningSkills

Experimenting with pozzolanic lime during my thesis project called: (Un)Expected Realities: A multi-species design approach to sea level rise in the harbour of Copenhagen -Here is a little booklet showing my process during this experiment.- Topic: My thesis delves into the intricate interplay between the built environment and the natural world within the harbour of Copenhagen. Through my research, I explored innovative approaches to designing spaces and use new materials that harmoniously coexist with their natural surroundings, particularly in the context of coastal landscapes and the challenges posed by rising sea levels. By reimagining the boundaries between built structures and the marine environment, I sought to create spaces that not only accommodate human activity but also provide sanctuary for thriving marine habitats. #copenhagen #architecture #coastalliving
