As a manager in the Salesforce ecosystem, I was glad to see this article by Salesforce Ben finally getting real about Salesforce talent and the job market. For anyone with a career in Salesforce or thinking about entering the ecosystem, I highly recommend reading this take on a trend I have been observing to be very true the last 2-3 years. https://lnkd.in/gbDeHckf

| Salesforce Administrator @ Anablock | Senior Human Resources and Cybersecurity Associate @Agencija za informaciono-komunikacione tehnologije Republike Srpske |
It is clear the Salesforce job landscape has undergone significant changes. Gone are the days when a simple admin certification would guarantee a lucrative position in this field. The evolving complexity of the Salesforce platform and the surplus of talent have drastically shifted the job market. The harsh reality of economic downturns, layoffs, and slowing growth in the tech sector has brought a new set of challenges. The Salesforce market is not just about having the right certifications; it’s increasingly about possessing a diverse set of skills, from integration to marketing automation and beyond.

3x Salesforce Certified Recruiter at Third Republic | Hiring talented Salesforce admins, analysts, architects, developers, and consultants
I've spoken to about a dozen Salesforce Admins over the past week who've mentioned wanting to become a Salesforce Architect. So, I thought I'd offer some practical advice on how to get there based on what I typically look for when sourcing & screening for architect roles: 🖥 Deepen your Technical Expertise 🖥 While declarative skills are valuable, Apex proficiency is generally expected and necessary for most Salesforce Architect roles. 💙 Diversify your Salesforce Experience 💙 A seasoned architect should have hands-on experience with multiple Salesforce products. There are ways to do this without excessive "job-hopping." A stint at a Salesforce consulting partner allows you to solve a wide range of problems and get hands-on experience with more features and clouds. Or if you prefer working for in-house for an end user, look for an employer that uses multiple Salesforce clouds across several departments. 🗨 Build Soft Skills 💬 A Salesforce Architect needs to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A great way to practice: Explain to friends & family members outside of the tech world what you did in Salesforce that day. When you can explain a Flow to your Nana, you're ready for an interview! 🤔 Start Thinking Like an Architect 🤔 Whether or not a particular Salesforce Architect role has direct reports, you'll be viewed as a team leader. As an admin, you can start building those leadership skills by volunteering to mentor junior team members or taking the lead on projects that require more intricate problem-solving. 🏅 Pursue Advanced Certifications 🏅 I know, I know. Experience matters more! But it's an uphill battle for me to secure a first interview for you without the certifications to back you up. And if you approach studying with a true intention to learn rather than another bullet point on your resume, they'll help with all of the above. #salesforce #salesforcecareers #SalesforceArchitect #SalesforceAdmins #awesomeadmins

A manufacturing company was trying to hire a Salesforce Developer. We found them a few that they really liked, and they made an offer to one of them. But that developer had already accepted a job with another company. A lot of times this would mean starting the search from scratch. Wasting a lot more of management’s time and waiting to start critical projects until they got the right person on board. But we’ve seen this situation before. So we had B & C candidates - who were just as qualified - ready to go. We keep talking to everyone on the short list, even when it looks like the job might go to someone else. Because so often, it doesn’t. And we want the companies we work with to get a great Salesforce professional on their team even if their first choice takes an offer elsewhere. But if you don’t stay in touch with those 2nd & 3rd place candidates. If you don’t keep communication open… Then if you do need to reach out to them. They’ve probably taken another job, too.
