This World Refugee Day, we're inspired by churches like Church of the Servant. One way they love God is by loving their neighbors—particularly neighbors new to the U.S.—through their ministry with refugees. Over decades, they've helped hundreds of families navigate new lives. This World Refugee Month, your church can answer the call too. Read more about how you can extend Christlike welcome to new refugee neighbors: https://lnkd.in/ef-PaP5A

We’re better friends when we listen to others’ stories. If we want to be good friends to New Americans, we must take the time to understand their experiences and listen to their stories. The UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, recently named its 2023 Featured Refugee Storytellers, and their words are a powerful window into the strength, resolve, and resilience of refugees. Migration is a model for sustainable development for all.
More than 110 million #displaced people live in places where they do not have full working rights. Matching them with gaps in Europe’s #labour market is a win-win. The World Economic Forum collaborated on the Refugee Employment Alliance, which hired 54,000 refugees between 2022 and 2024. I'm a passionate about growth and innovation, believing brilliant ideas transcend colour, nationality, and circumstance. I've consistently supported international talent to drive the UK's success across all industries. The UK's shortage occupation list grows yearly, highlighting our urgent need for skilled individuals. On #WorldRefugeeDay, MAK25 London recognises and honors the untapped talents among asylum seekers arriving on our shores. The World Economic Forum reports 110 million displaced people live without full working rights. Connecting them with Europe's labour market gaps benefits everyone, as shown by the Refugee Employment Alliance hiring 54,000 refugees in 2022-2024. Through compassionate immigration policies, we can harness refugee talent to turbocharge innovation and growth. As the saying goes, "What if the cure for cancer lies in the mind of someone lacking education access?" It's almost the same when a brilliant mind is unable to access resources. The next refugee could be a parent of the future Steve Jobs, an Einstein in the making , or even the next Rita Ora! Talent is the ultimate renewable resource, and refugees represent vast, untapped potential. Let's hope the next Government has the wisdom and courage to welcome them. https://lnkd.in/eygNCAjs #worldrefugeeday #refugees #asylum #immigration #uk #humanrights #education #employment #globalmobility

My father was a refugee. He fled communist Poland in the '70s. I grew up listening to stories of resilience and determination, but I would not be here today if it weren't for the fact that my father was given asylum right away and welcomed into the US with open arms. Today is World Refugee Day, and the same cannot be said for the 114 million refugees that are present around the world today. Their stories often go unheard, overshadowed by statistics and stereotypes. This is one of the many reasons why I co-founded The Hybrid Tours. Together with Our World Too, we aim to amplify the voices of those who have experienced displacement firsthand and to rehumanize the refugee narrative. Here's the catch: this is done through travel. At The Hybrid Tours, we don't just visit. We are about connection, education, and impact. Our unique travel experiences allow participants to engage deeply with local communities, learning from those who have lived through displacement. Through our travels, we foster understanding and empathy, bridging the gap between cultures and creating lasting, positive change. And we, of course, have fun while doing so. That's why we're a hybrid - the best of both worlds. Trips like ours are usually only offered by research institutes and universities. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in these transformative experiences. We aim to broaden the impact of our work, making it accessible to all who are willing to listen, learn, and advocate for a better world. On this day, let us honor the resilience of refugees and commit to changing the narrative. Join us in our journey to create a more inclusive and compassionate world through meaningful travel and storytelling. Travel is, after all, one of the keys to making the world a better place. #WorldRefugeeDay #TheHybridTours #OurWorldToo #RefugeeVoices #TravelWithPurpose #ChangeTheNarrative
🌍 Today, on World Refugee Day, we stand together to honor the courage, resilience, and strength of refugees worldwide. In the face of unimaginable adversity, millions of people have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety and a better future. As global citizens, it is our duty to support and uplift these individuals, offering them the compassion and opportunities they deserve. Let us commit to fostering inclusive communities and advocating for policies that protect their rights. Together, we can create a world where every refugee is welcomed, valued, and given the chance to thrive. 🤝🌟 #WorldRefugeeDay #WithRefugees #GlobalSolidarity #HumanRights #thehybridtours

Each year on 20 June, the world celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. The 2023 theme of World Refugee Day is “hope away from home.” Bas Timmer and Mike Brady through the Sheltersuit Foundation and ShelterLab help companies to find innovative solutions to help protect unsheltered people incl. refugees from the elements, whilst the search for a more permanent solution continues. #UNHCR #peoplehelpingpeople #unshelteredmoments
