Competing at Denmark’s national soccer stadium Last Friday, the Better Collective HQ soccer team joined the Partner Cup Tournament in Parken, the Danish national stadium. Despite heroic team efforts and great fan support from colleagues and family, we didn't get to lift the tournament trophy. Still, it was a fantastic and memorable day at Parken with lots of fun and sportsmanship!

s Australia Goes Matilda Crazy, We Need to Talk about the Wood Work 🥅⚽ If I've learnt anything, everything revolves around forests and timber, and football is no exception! Here are the key takeaways 📌: 1️⃣ Matilda Mania: On Monday, the Matildas secured a spot in the World Cup quarterfinals with a win over Denmark. Their upcoming match against France will be Australia's highest-rated event this year. 2️⃣ Record Viewership: The match against Denmark drew 3.633 million viewers, with additional 385,000 viewers streaming it live on Seven's platform, 7plus. 3️⃣ Wooden Legacy: The term 'woodwork', frequently used in football to describe the goal frame, dates back over a century. In soccer's early days, the rectangular goal frames were made primarily of timber, with elm being the most popular choice. 4️⃣ Evolution of the Goal Frame: As the game evolved, so did the goals. Timber was the material of choice due to its strength, durability, and lightweight nature. Even though wooden posts have disappeared mainly from professional soccer, the term "woodwork" still endures. 🔗 Read the Full Story: Dive deeper into the history of wooden goalposts and their ties to the modern game here: https://lnkd.in/gcXyFaXr 📢 Join the Discussion: Have you ever wondered where many colloquialisms come from? Senior Manager, Sales (SaaS Labs) | General Manager & Board Member (CallPage) | Business Leader | Passionate About Helping SMBs Grow & Succeed
Big thanks to SaaS Labs for the shoutout! Our CallPage team had a blast playing football almost every Wednesday this season. We aimed high, played our best, and got 3rd place in our league. ⚽️ We were hoping for 1st or 2nd, but hey, 3rd isn’t bad – we got to the podium! Now we’re aiming for 1st place next season! 🎯 It's fun to see how our teamwork on the field is like our teamwork in the office. What we learn on the pitch helps us work better together at work, both in scoring goals and hitting work targets. Here’s a tip for other companies: try sports or activities like this. It’s fun and helps build a great team spirit that helps at work too. It helped us in: ✅ Bonding as a team (which helps us work smoothly) ✅ Showing real-time leadership ✅ Lowering stress (which boosts creativity) ✅ Keeping focused on our goals ✅ Improving how we talk to each other Your turn! What sports or activities does your team do to stay fit and keep the team spirit high? Let me know in the comments! And a big shoutout to all our friends who cheered us on from the sidelines! #TeamBuilding #CompanyCulture #CorporateLeague
What a great football week! 🏆 2 years of pure dedication by our CallPage team in the Kraków Football Business League paid off! Last season (summer 2023) was truly remarkable, as we finished the season on the podium, securing the 3rd place overall! To add to the celebrations, our team proudly collected our well-deserved medals and the trophy last Saturday! Next goal - the 1st place! 🥇

In a world where unity and camaraderie are ever so crucial, rugby stands as a beacon of global goodwill. The ongoing Rugby World Cup France 2023 isn't just a spectacle of top-tier athleticism and sportsmanship, and it's a testament to the power of sport as a force for positive change on a global scale. One of the embodiments of this positive change is the Laureus Foundation, which harnesses the power of sport to transform the lives of youth around the globe. With its core values of respect, integrity, and solidarity, #Rugby naturally aligns with the mission of such foundations. The Laureus Foundation has, over the years, leveraged the influence of Rugby ambassadors to advocate for social change, fostering community development and inclusivity through sport. The Rugby World Cup provides a grand stage where these values are displayed. It's an occasion where nations, regardless of geographical or political differences, celebrate a sport that epitomizes #teamwork, #discipline, and #respect. Each game is a narrative that goes well beyond the rugby pitch, inspiring many to rally together for a common goal, both on and off the field. As we revel in the excitement of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 tournament, let's also acknowledge the broader impact of rugby in promoting social good. The legacy of this sport goes beyond the cheers, the scores, and the trophies. It's about the global community coming together, breaking down barriers, and championing the ethos of sportsmanship and positive change. As we cheer for our favorite teams, let's also cheer for the power of rugby to catalyze global goodwill and the commendable efforts of organizations like the Laureus Foundation in harnessing this power for a better world. #RugbyWorldCup2023 #Rugby #LaureusFoundation #SportForGood #GlobalGoodwill #CommunityDevelopment #AzureforSports
