Are you perfect? ASPE President Jim Zebrowski contends that no one can ever be perfect, and there is nothing wrong with that. What is most important is to strive for perfection and enjoy the journey along the way, as he explains in his August 2023 column on ASPE Pipeline ➡ https://lnkd.in/gCSkVYwR #aspe #plumbingengineers #plumbingdesigners

The Port of Virginia recently opened its wider shipping channel for two-way passage of ultra-large container vessels. Dredging work began in December 2019. It was completed with the collaboration and support of state, local and community elected officials, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District Office. The widening is part of the port’s $1.4 billion strategic infrastructure investment package. Investments are focused on increasing the speed of cargo moving through the port, supporting larger cargo volumes and creating efficiency. Here's a preview of work on my current project!
Major work has now began at the ASEC site! We are currently focused on approximately 3-4 months of shoring and mass excavation activities. Upon completion, the mass excavation will be at a depth of approximately 8 metres. Following this, work will immediately begin in late summer/early fall on the Phase 1 foundations. The shoring and mass excavation contract (approx. $4.5M) is being completed by Kingsclear Municipal, which is a majority owned Indigenous joint venture.
