Grateful to have attended an amazing event by Starling, presented by Jessica Martin, MAEd/Cl, on change management. Thanks to Jess for sharing such actionable insights! One key takeaway that struck me was the importance of managing the human side of change. As product managers, we drive continuous improvement not just in our products but also within our teams. Here are a few lessons that stood out: 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆: In product development, early stakeholder involvement can prevent last-minute surprises and ensure alignment. 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲: Recognize that everyone’s tolerance for change is different. Manage this by celebrating wins and addressing concerns proactively. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Building trust is essential. Communicate the 'why' behind changes and maintain alignment with both departmental and organizational goals. Change is inevitable, but with the right approach, we can navigate it smoothly and turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
