Go to High School Go to College The "Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College" program, established in 1922, concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Statistics prove the value of this extra impetus in making the difference in the success of young African-American men, given that school completion is the single best predictor of future economic success. Through the Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College educational initiative, young men receive information and learn strategies that facilitate success. Alpha men provide youth participants with excellent role models to emulate.

Words can’t even express how much I love this program. If you haven’t heard of the BLAC Internship Program do your googles. They are creating such an important space for black talent to thrive and be discovered. I wouldn’t have been able this start my career with such momentum without this internship program. If you’re hiring or just looking to support the next generation of advertising talent, look into BLAC. If you’re able donate some time to mentor, join the support network, and pay your success forward. You never know how important it is to support the future until you actually tap in.

Powell, along with nine other women, was honored by the Multicultural Media Correspondents Association for their contributions to the field and evoked the power of BIPOC ownership. "I knew in my core that, and I still feel this way, information is power, and that when you fund people of color, Black, Latine, Asian-American, Indigenous, and immigrant people who are at the forefront of serving their communities, when you fund those organizations, those communities are better informed. And when those people are better informed, our world is better and so that's the work that we are doing at The Pivot Fund. We fund organizations led by and for people of color who are not on anybody's radar."
