So funny that no one (in the west) seems to want to call it what it is. Since I published From Pixels to Portals only last year; we've been trying to avoid calling the #metaverse, the, er, metaverse. The dilution of what it is, is surely another casualty of semantics? Stuart Brazier from big group offers some really nice alt use cases for the whateververse and that's exactly how I'm checking in with users as I build NAK3D. I think it's because it didn't really "catch on" at the time so maybe it needs a "rebrand" ie new name. And Mark Zuckerberg might have to "rebrand" Meta 🤣 In the same way that NFTs now seem to have a tendency to be called "digital souvenirs" for some uses.
