Executive Chair, Ford Motor Company

Twenty years ago, I worked with Mayor Mike Duggan and many others to build Ford Field in downtown Detroit with a sense of hope for better days for the city we all love. Later this year, we will reopen Michigan Central, once a symbol of Detroit’s decline and now a key piece of its renewal. It’s been amazing to see the city and the country rally around the Lions and appreciate the unbelievable heart and grit of this region. Go Lions!

Way to go!!! Ground up Firestones under the turf! Remember Teterboro when everyone was in EXP’s and you asked Neil for a Mustang? I think he said something like have your dad give me a call, you never asked dad and were in an EXP like the rest of us! Sold ever share at 67 before Jac put us in the toilet! Bough it all back when you took over! I had the FCSD zone that you had for Ford Div. Liked Buddenhagens Garage!

What a ride from Ford Field construction days to where Detroit is now. I look forward to the opening! My mom would bring me to Detroit from Ann Arbor on the Amtrak for summer day trips when i was a kid - Michigan Central was our final stop. The building - in all of its states - has always held my memories. And...Go Lions!

My son and I, both Fordies will be watching from the UK like we have every minute of every game so far this season. So excited and happy. We got to visit Ford Field last Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to come again one day. Love visiting Detroit with work or personally, such a rebuild. Go Lions

Bill, Following Detroit’s bankruptcy I did a story for The Economist that was illustrated by a pic showing the decrepit Michigan Central Station. As I wrote about the potential for the city to turn things around I said the fate of the station would be the symbol of whether a rebirth could take hold. We still have a long way to go…but this is a critical piece in bringing back the motor City. You and Ford deserve much credit for this. Meanwhile… …Go Lions!

Love this, of course. The Ford family's dedication to Detroit, on so many levels, has been inspiring, and vital.
