Lithium-sulfur chemistry will be the next major advancement in rechargeable battery technology. They are significantly lighter than lithium-ion batteries while delivering comparable energy. It is nice to be involved in doing that! What intrigues me even more is the potential to manufacture these cells using only local raw materials. Sometimes, that feature is more important than performance alone.

This was a great event for so many reasons. In our industry, we hear about rapid changes A LOT, but I left the event with a sense that the trajectory is increasing at an unprecedented rate. All of my take-aways were based on this:     ▶ In the Great Wealth Transfer, it’s expected that between $60 and $84 trillion will be transferred from boomers to their heirs between now and 2045 (with a substantial portion occurring by next year),    ▶ Rapidly increasing mental capacity concerns have trustees considering the need for established, in-office, mental health training,    ▶ Rapid changes in are also occurring in the Middle East, with the next generation of wealth owners moving towards more westernised approaches to wealth management within families.     Really interesting conversations also around the use of foundations as opposed to trusts and other alternatives, and the prospect of mandatory ESG in trust structures.  Richard Shirreff bought the house down with his keynote on building resilience in businesses, drawing on the current geopolitical landscape to present his step- plan.  Thank you to Mourant, Katie Hooper Stephen Alexander for a compelling, fascinating day. #GreatWealthTransfer #Mourant #Jersey #ChannelIslands

Junior enlisted rely on their technical expertise and guidance for professional development, but many don't realize officers require those same things from the Chief's Mess even more. The Chief's Mess is absolutely necessary for the continuity of a strong, resilient Naval force - no successful chief, junior enlisted, or officer exists today without the influence and guidance of the Chief's Mess.

To understand the rank of Fleet Admiral, one needs to consider the context of World War II. The United States was working alongside Allies who had higher ranks like Field Marshals and Fleet Admirals, which were superior to American ranks. To ensure American senior officers were not outranked, the United States established the ranks of Fleet Admiral and General of the Army, both five-star ranks. In total, nine men held these ranks. For the Navy, they were Nimitz, Halsey, King, and Leahy. In the Army, the five-star generals were Arnold, Eisenhower, Marshall, MacArthur, and Bradley.

"Resilient" is probably the most accurate word to describe this bunch of teens. Military kids don't choose their lifestyle, but they can make the active choice to get involved with their communities and make a difference.
