Last year, I said the Baltimore Orioles were a great team because GM Mike Elias and Field Manager Brandon Hyde rebuilt the team to a standard of right people and right seats. This year, a new and important piece of the puzzle fell into place.
The Orioles have David Rubenstein as their new owner. This guy knows what it takes to be a right person in an organization. Right person is culture, period. It’s living the organization's core values.
IT'S THE WHOLE BALL GAME because you can have Gunnar Henderson's skills, but you won't make it on our team if you behave like Ty Cobb. Bravo, David! Welcome back to Baltimore!!!

Watch this clip from our 2021 honoree, Rosie Lee Bryant, as she shares wisdom on the lessons she has learned from the great example of her parents and the importance of good leadership!
Yay, Richie! Your hard work, dedication, ambition, and talent are unmatched. I’m so happy you are being recognized for your investment and involvement in the community!
Now, this post may put me on the paparazzi’s radar…and they may become extra relentless once they learn I’m your sister, leaving me little to no choice but to entertain their need to get the dirt on you. Don’t worry! I’m already preparing for it. I’ll probably say something along the lines of-
“From the moment I met him, I knew he had something special.” “I saw his potential early on and knew he would go far.” “Of course he was going to be successful, our parents doted on him. My sister and I didn’t mind though. Oh, you didn’t even know Richie had two siblings? Neither did our parents.” “He’s always put 127% into his work. For example, that time he modeled for Abercrombie…”.*
As for questions like: “Does he always obey the speed limit?” “Has he ever used Sun In?” “Is it true Grover is his favorite Sesame Street character?” You can rest assured I’ll answer “No comment.”.
While I can’t say I’m surprised you made the list, if asked about my feelings on your inclusion, I will express I am a litttttttle disappointed you’ve not made a 30 Under 30. Clearly you didn’t consider how that would make your older sister feel. I guess you only gave 95% during that selection timeframe.
In all seriousness, I’m so proud of you! But I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing support and partnership you have with Charissa. Together, you both make an unstoppable team, and I'm in awe of the way you complement each other's talents. Bravo to both of you for your incredible accomplishments! Your bestest, however, are the four kiddos. 💜

The Moynihan Center at The City College of New York's Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership advances the twin goals of public scholarship and public service. Taking inspiration from Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s distinguished career, the Center cultivates leaders who cross the boundaries between critical thinking, public service practice, and popular communication. Through two signature fellowship programs and a rich slate of public events, the Center works to ensure that the next generation of public scholars and public servants reflects the diversity of viewpoints and lived experiences represented at City College and beyond.
