The self proclaimed, most influential person in payments. Except for Jack Dorsey or those two bros from that other company & definitely not Satoshi Nakamoto, but after all those guys it's me.
Top 10 merchants know how to align Buy Now Pay Later to sell more... Whether b2c or b2b!... Buy Now Pay Later went to market badly! 🫠🫠🫠 And has suffered the consequences. But it’s still a valid and a required vehicle to sell more and accelerate growth. There’s nothing wrong with the concept of BNPL, obviously that’s what credit cards are, loans etc etc. And I’m not going to get into how these companies could survive here… But for merchants align these payment methods with the right products and you’ve got a winning strategy. I mean, offering BNPL to teenagers or groceries is not supporting the concept of credit utilisation. You’re no better than a loan shark if you do this. If you’re selling higher ticket items or working with a savvy customer base that would like to take advantage or spreading their payments then DO IT. Even if you’re selling lower tickets items are there ways to bundle items together or sell in bulk, increasing the sale price and making BNPL the ideal solution at checkout… Think about how subscription business taken off, leverage that market salience and sell annual plans or quarterly quantities of yoghurt but get paid up front for the annual amount now! This can work in the B2C or B2B space. Just take a step back, think and aligning the right instruments to get more money now and spread the cost for your buyer. #bnpl #payments
