Quantum-Si is a new next-generation protein sequencing technique that can be used for revolutionizing proteomics by analyzing the single-molecule proteins in every kind of lab and was created by Jonathan Rothberg. This is fundamental for understanding the cellular pathways in which proteins are involved when approaching to a disease. The principal tool of the company is called Platinum and it's related to a protein-sequencing chip able to permit the researchers to see what happens to the protein or an aminoacid when involved in a pathophysiological disease. In my opinion this technique can be interesting if applied together with the splitting trees of NMR Spectroscopy for finding a new drug, so fusing the two methods in order to discover more properties of a compound. #Quantum-Si

Excited to share our recent work on developing a #bioanalytical method to analyze low-abundant #glycolipid-anchored proteins or #GPI-APs within live cells. https://lnkd.in/ewsDFuui 🔴 The highlight of this research is leveraging DNA #hybridization #HCR for #signal-amplification allowing visualization of cell surface #GPI-APs. This method minimally perturbs cellular physiology, making it highly compatible for use in live cells. 🔴 #GPI-APs are essential but low-abundant proteins that play crucial roles in immunological regulation. Their low abundance has hindered detailed investigations of these biomolecules. Previously, we used metabolic #glycoengineering to label these proteins, which required large quantities of chemical probes. 🔴 Our new method can label proteins with as little as nanomolar quantities of the probe. This method will be highly applicable to study this proteins within live cell surface using modern imaging techniques.
