Recently published on The Lancet Digital Health, this article offers an in-depth focus on Digital Therapeutics' clinical trials and their development into the clinical landscape. The interesting insights are based on a research of more than 400 DTx clinical trials initiated, or expected to be initiated, between 2010 and 2030 including, among the available analyzed data, the trial's duration and the Medical Subject Headings categories (MeSH). As GDMH's mission is to be a global player in the deployment of digital medicine solutions in a constantly challenging medical scenario, this article similarly showcases the challenging opportunities clinicians and researchers have in designing inclusive DTx clinical trials which could provide several options of personalised care to prevent individuals' diseases, managing their therapy's journeys. FYI upcoming 2024 call from the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine - EP PerMed - the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine - a co-funded Partnership under Cluster 1 (Health) in Horizon Europe. This call aims to fund research that fosters the identification and/or validation of targets for personalised medicine approaches. Applicants submitting a proposal must combine research on new and advanced targets with companion biomarker research (companion diagnostics). Consortia are required to be transnational, interdisciplinary and trans-sectoral, as well as to clearly outline the personalised medicine perspective in the research proposed. The budget is €45m and there will be a 2 stage application process. As this is a co-funded Partnership, it requires simultaneous participation and national co-funding commitment from relevant national research funding bodies. Ireland’s participation in this call is being facilitated and co-funded by both the Health Research Board (HRB) and Science Foundation Ireland. An info day on this call is scheduled to take place the afternoon of January 15, 2024 (TBC).
