Data Processing & Digital Services Manager at Medtronic I Simplifying complexity to make organizations more customer centric
Next week, I am about to embark on another round of mentorship program under Erhverv Aarhus. It’s a program where experienced professionals offer pro bono coaching and mentoring to fresh graduates to find gainful employment. It’s truly amazing to see what impact my co-mentors on the program are having on the mentees. I learn through how they motivate, engage and empower their respective mentees. My motivation for being a mentor in the program stems from my struggles as a new graduate looking for that 1st professional break and not knowing what to do – Lots of trial and error. I see my work as helping my former self. I am quite proud of my results - so far >85% of my mentees ended up in professional roles within our collaboration period or shortly thereafter. What is even more satisfying is that 2 of my former mentees Simon Kønigsfeldt and Munira Farah are now also mentors in the program and help by paying it forward! Besides the basics of CV, covering letters, LI and social presence – here are some learnings: 1. Mentees’ motivation and engagement are crucial for successful outcomes 2. Motivation can alternate from week to week, so adjust the pace accordingly 3. Self-image/confidence (lack thereof) can be a key enabler/blocker 4. Prioritize progress over perfection 5. Daring to try something new and bold 6. Celebrating success - Use everything else and add it to your experience 7. Reach out and ask for help – you would be positively surprised! Connect with my ex-mentees. They are awesome professionals and worth having in your network and can share some of their first-hand experiences from the program: Amalie Langkjer, Nina Dybdal, Anders Højmark, Dennis Johnsen, Josefine Ellgaard Thomsen, Olga Jakobsen, Dorottya Horváth, Simon Kønigsfeldt, Munira Farah If you are interested in becoming a mentor yourself, then get in touch with Benjamin Andersen from Erhverv Aarhus #ErhvervAarhus #payitforward #jobhunt

🚀 At SustainLab, we’re happy to be a diverse team that continues to grow with new people, new perspectives and new ideas, working towards the same goal of #acceleratingchange for better business – better planet. Meet our new interns within the Customer Success Team – Fatuma Omer Ali & Ama Ansah! We had a quick chat with them about themselves and working at SustainLab: Fatuma 🌟: In my role as a sustainability intern, I am actively involved in the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) project and in the process I am realising the power of data. Collaborating with an outstanding team member adds a layer of ease and interest to our work, making the experience both enjoyable and rewarding . Previously, I have studied engineering and developed a huge passion about sustainability and carbon footprint accounting. In addition, I am dedicated to embracing the unfamiliar and acquiring knowledge along my journey - I love the professionalism at SustainLab, the welcoming and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels like an old friend. This sense of camaraderie motivates me to give my best and contribute wholeheartedly. During my internship, I am learning valuable insights into sustainability, particularly focusing on CSRD. Beyond work, I expanded my skills by learning a new recipe that I'm excited to cook in the upcoming weeks. Ama 🌱: I am a Sustainability Data Analyst intern with the Customer Success Team and my work largely involves structuring, normalising and visualising customer data using the SustainLab software. Including account setup during the onboarding phase. My background is in economics and computer science, but tech has always been my first love, so my work experience has been largely in the tech space but in the financial industry. Generally, I enjoy using tech to solve problems to make life better for society. I enjoy being part of this story and it is quite exciting that I am continuing this story with SustainLab from a sustainability perspective. It is a new learning experience with a supportive team - SustainLab is the most diverse team I have worked with. I like the diversity and flexibility it offers while getting the job done. I also enjoy the support I get from the team. #meettheteam #sustainablebusiness #sustainlab

Hello everyone 👋🏻 I'm Vicki, a Marketing & Sustainability Content intern at SustainLab, as well as a final year Environmental Studies student at the National University of Singapore. In this role, I am dedicated to crafting meaningful articles and engaging posts to keep our readers informed about the latest developments in the sustainability scene. 💡 What do you enjoy most about working at SustainLab? Executive Assistant | Community Manager | Customer Support | Administrative Officer | HR Enthusiast | Virtual Assistant | Project Manager | Transcriber
My path to Project Manager started unexpectedly. During a regular meeting, my boss saw potential and offered to sponsor a project management course as I'd be managing projects soon. I saw an ad for DEXA on LinkedIn and impulsively applied. Later, I got an email about my acceptance through a scholarship program. Initially, I just planned to attend, learn and get certified. But fate had other plans. I was chosen as a Team Leader, Team 1, Cohort 14. Leading wasn't easy. Coordinating across time zones was a hurdle but I remained committed to supporting my team. Here's to conquering that challenge and officially becoming a Project Manager. I DID IT 🥂🥂🥂 #Projectmanager #learnwithDEXA #projectsuccess #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipsuccess Adil Haimoun

Local Pathways Fellow | UN SDSN Youth | UNDP Ghana YSB | ALX | Research | Sustainability | Waste Gobbler | Aequitas Experience | Circular Economy | GIS | Remote Sensing | Storytelling•
🕹 Let's be honest, being a #teamplayer sounds easy on paper, but working effectively in a group can be a challenge at times! Just a few years back, during my undergrad days at University of Ghana, group presentations and #teamwork felt like a struggle. I had my own way of doing things and wasn't used to #collaborating with others. ♠ Fast forward, my #perspective has done a complete 180 thanks to #volunteering, internships, the Waste Gobbler project, the Aequitas experience by the Aequitas Foundation, online courses (shoutout to Coursera!), and even church activities! I've learned a ton about the power of #teamwork and #collaboration. 🎯 Here's the thing: Circular economy projects depend on rock-solid teamwork, collaboration, and partnerships. Why? Buckle up for 3 jaw-dropping tips: 💡 1. Strength in Numbers: Imagine a team where everyone brings their unique skills and perspectives to the table. A designer, an engineer, and a business whiz working together can create far more innovative solutions than any one person could alone. 💡 2. Everyone's an Expert: We all have different strengths and weaknesses. Collaboration allows you to leverage the expertise of others, filling knowledge gaps and creating a well-rounded team that can tackle any challenge. 💡 3. Building Your Network: The strong #relationships you build within your team extend beyond the project itself. These #connections create a powerful #network that can open doors to new #opportunities, funding, and future collaborations. It's all about building a support system that benefits everyone! So, the next time you're faced with a team project, especially in the realm of circular economy, embrace it! Collaboration isn't just a fluffy concept; it's the key to unlocking groundbreaking solutions for a sustainable future. 🤔 What are your experiences with teamwork? Share your thoughts in the comments! P.S. Feeling inspired? Let's connect and chat about how we can work together to create a more circular world! 🤝 #circulareconomy #teamwork #collaboration #sustainability #community Sustainability with Koomson (SWK)

📅Day 13: I decided to pursue a research master's degree, and it feels a bit like a handicap 🎓🥲 The first almost stereotypical comment I get is, "So, you're going to teach then? 😅" No, but apart from teaching, there are various careers we can pursue 🙃 And another thing that annoys me is the experience issue: we're often told we're too theoretical, lacking practical experience. But how are we supposed to gain that experience if no one offers us the opportunity? 💼 It's important to highlight that the skills acquired in a research master's program go far beyond just theory. We develop advanced analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to innovate in our field. These skills are extremely valuable and applicable in numerous sectors, such as: Research and Development (R&D): Whether in technology, pharmaceuticals, or engineering, R&D departments need individuals who can drive innovation and lead complex projects. Consulting: Many consulting firms value the critical thinking and in-depth knowledge that research graduates bring to the table. What we need now to complete our capacity is just the opportunity to gain practical experience. I’ll talk more about this theme in another post. #21DaysChallenge
