“We’ve had 2,000+ applicants for this open Account Executive role.” That’s what a Head of Sales told an AE last week just before agreeing to an interview with them. > Let’s turn the clocks back 1 week 👇 an AE is considering another opp. They knew if they wanted to stand out from the pack they had to stop applying online and playing the waiting game (like everyone else) So they decided to - uncover who the hiring manager was - dig around for their contact info - send them a message + video Here’s what it sounded like: “Hi Linda, saw your CRO talk about your NA expansion efforts in 2024 as one of your top initiatives. I understand you’re looking for AEs in the northeast to help propel that growth. Here are 3 reasons I believe I'd make an immediate impact: - grew the MM business 30% in my patch the past 2 years - developed a 4-step prospecting technique that's helped me land 25+ new logos - Self-aware, use data to provide customers with a PoV, and leverage my x-functional teammates in every key deal Could we set aside 15-min to share thoughts?” (This wasn’t the actual message verbatim, but followed the same framework) …………………………. The results? The hiring manager responded back the same day, “We’ve had 2,000 applicants to this open Account Executive role and no one has sent me a message and video like this.” They scheduled an interview for later in the week with the candidate. ……………………………….. Been working with this AE on how find a role, how to formulate a message/video that resonates and how to land interviews, quickly.
