Last minutes to vote if you want to support this sustainable initiative, combining high level ADR expertise; support to communities affected by infrastructure projects and protection of the environment! Kindly use this form to vote: https://lnkd.in/emS4-WxX 🔔 🔔 📯 📣 🥁 🔊 I am delighted to announce that the CARO Conflict Management Committee Rules have been shortlisted for the Global Arbitration Review Awards 2024, in the “Best Innovation” category ! Our Rules can be found on the CARO website: https://lnkd.in/eqJMk9gM We are very proud of this recognition, and encourage you to vote for our Rules, which create a more inclusive and sustainable framework of dispute management in the context of infrastructure projects. Why is our approach groundbreaking ? ➡ Because with our Rules, and for the first time, the “disputes” handled by a Dispute Board are no longer restricted to disputes of a technical and/or commercial nature. ➡ The disputes involving workers on site and impacted communities, who are often the first victims of a project’s collateral damages, are also included into the mission of third party-neutrals working on the ground. The inclusion of all concerned and affected stakeholders is indeed often vital, as the absence of stakeholder engagement has brought more than a few investment projects to sudden and expensive halts, as demonstrated recently in Panama and Guatemala. As stressed by António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations: “the extraction of critical minerals for the clean energy revolution – from wind farms to solar panels and battery manufacturing – must be done in a sustainable, fair and just way”. We believe that the CMC Rules are the right tool to address this pressing concern. We are grateful for all the support received so far and we stand ready to answer any enquiry on the CMC Rules. Thanks again Wolf von Kumberg, Elise Groulx Diggs Eve Tessera and Mark Appel, you make dreams come true… #adr #indigenousrights #sustainability #sustainablebusiness #ohadac #renewableenergy #energyinfrastructure #energyrevolution #innovation

Great to see the new CMC Rules getting so much attention this quickly. They are indeed a new way of looking at conflict management boards that include a community aspect. It is the missing piece in dispute board rules and will provide a more balanced conflict management tool for energy transition.

Kamala Harris’ lack of the typical post-convention polling “bump” is a problem for her campaign. It is a BIG problem for her campaign. That lack of a polling bump means this is as good as she gets in the polls. This is her high water mark. ***** Patrick Murray, director of the Polling Institute at Monmouth University, told the Washington Examiner that Harris saw her bump before the convention after President Joe Biden ended his 2024 bid on July 21 and Democrats quickly united around Harris as his chosen successor. “We have an unprecedented situation here, where we have a candidate who was just announced as the candidate a month before the convention, and quite frankly, that’s when she got her bounce,” he said in an interview on Tuesday. “What we’re looking at with polling since the convention is that she held on to it.” The RealClearPolitics average of national polls on Tuesday has Harris leading Trump in a head-to-head matchup by 1.9 percentage points. That’s virtually unchanged from Aug. 19, when Harris was ahead by 1.5 percentage points. ***** https://lnkd.in/gDJDykq5 With Donald Trump doing a strategy of meet the press and Harris doing a strategy of avoid the press, she doesn’t have any game-changing events with which to change momentum. The campaign rallies are not going to change momentum for either side. Rallies are attended primarily by the loyalists. They are the voters that candidate has already won over. By and large they are not the marginal voters whose votes are still in play. To shift momentum a candidate needs to reach out to those marginal voters. That means getting out on media channels in a variety of ways to get exposure to those marginal voters. That means getting out and talking to journalists. Whether appearing on Lex Fridman’s podcast or sitting down with the NABJ, Trump is presenting himself to a variety of marginal and potential crossover voters. By shunning those same opportunities, Harris is avoiding those same marginal and potential crossover voters. Where this really creates a problem for her is next Tuesday’s debate. With her campaign stalling out she needs a mic drop moment at that debate. She needs to do to Donald Trump what Tulsi Gabbard did to her. And she needs to do it in a forum and format that is demonstrably not her forte. Kamala’s entire campaign is coming down to next Tuesday. That’s not a good position for any candidate.
With no convention bounce, Harris has limited chances to pull away from Trump

The League is going into a strategic planning session this week to chart a new path forward with new leadership. Much thanks to K & L Gates who continue to provide true business advise on board development and governance. This is a pivotal time and a defining moment for those of us in the Voting Rights spaces. Servant leadership at this trying times is critical, and requires we sieze this moment to unite our collective aspirations for a future we imagined together. We are at our best when we work collaboratively and respectfully across the board, to uplift one another. Now is not the time to point fingers or engage in the blame games that splitter our spirit. These times require we roll our sleeves, and join hands regardless of our politics to build an inclusive society. it can be done, if we lay aside our petty grievances that serve only our partisan and parochial needs. Join the League of Minority Voters National On June 25th to celebrate the best of our bipartisan spirit. Event starts at 5pm. email [email protected] for invite. With a strong and United mission there's nothing beyond our grasp. Come be a part of it.

Steve sums up the QOP perfectly. GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel demands the QOP primary be stopped after two states-and they accuse the Democrats of election interference? They would rather kiss the boots of their orange demagogue and disenfranchise millions of their own supporters, than support our democratic processes. Why? Because they know as the primary season goes on and Trump spews more hatred on the campaign trail, he will alienate more and more voters. MTG uses the word "eradicate" when speaking about members of her own party. Steve succinctly describes the meaning of this word with horrific visual images. The thing that needs eradication in our country is fascism and the fascist members of the former GOP, now known as the New American Fascist Party. We eradicate them at the polling booth, not literally, obviously. Space Laser Klan Marm Greene then states that she supports (and others in the QOP) Trump's "policies." Policies of retribution, dictatorship, voter suppression, attacking the media, weaponization by the government against his perceived political enemies-I guess all those trips to Russia helped form his "policies." And this is what that dingbat and other feckless members of the GOP support-the end of Democracy. We CANNOT allow them to succeed. In this day and age of corporate greed constantly beating down the average American, it fosters a feeling of political apathy among many. We cannot lay down and watch Democracy wither and die under GOP oppression. We have to get the vote out. Volunteer in any way you can, stuff envelopes, get involved in a writing campaign, drive voters to the polling booth-whatever you can do to help defeat the insanity of the republican party. The biggest thing you can do to defeat this horrific fascist movement and the convicted orange rapist is by VOTING BLUE IN EACH AND EVERY ELECTION! "When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving the cross." ~Sinclair Lewis Does that quote sound familiar...remember Trump hugging the flag? Do you remember him holding the bible upside down and backwards outside the church in Lafayette Square? I'm sure you've seen the American Taliban in their beat up pickup trucks with the Trump flags and other flags dangling from the truck bed...this is today's republican party-or more aptly-The New American Fascist Party. VOTE BLUE!!!!

Climate / sustainability psychologist, advisor + engagement strategist; founder, Project InsideOut (KR Foundation initiative); BMW Foundation Responsible Leader; working on new trade book
Rich Thau - this is incredibly rich psychological terrain, that I believe psychotherapists & psychoanalysts would have a lot to say about. Just as we did with our work on conservative Republican skeptics and climate, I would want to go beneath the surface to the Three As: Anxiety: what are the latent & underlying anxieties people are experiencing? Even if they can’t say it directly. Usually it relates to agency, safety, and control. Ambivalence: where people pulled in competing directions, such as the person who says that if they knew climate change was real, they’d act on it, but they can’t because they are in social worlds that would alienate them / it would threaten too much about reality; Aspirations: what are peoples’ deep aspirations and why are they appealing to these particular kind of individuals? I’m convinced if we practice the art and science of attunement, we would see so much more progress politically. It takes the willingness and curiosity to listen and look below the surface

Alex Burns is on to something. When I ask swing voters who they’d like to see run, it’s not another politician. It’s people like Dwayne “the rock” Johnson and Oprah.
