The median generation in today's market are the millennials. Not only that but the younger half of the millennial generation are in the late 20s to mid-30s now. Using the main keywords for your service or product followed by "Contact Us" to learn more means your site doesn't have my answer. As a younger millennial, I learned how to Google Search in the 2nd grade. I also learned that page 1 does NOT have the best page results **cough** Wiki **cough** When a user is searching for information on Google, they are looking for an answer - not a "Call Us" button. Google understands this and now favors quality content in their #organicsearch results. The "How-To" article type is shockingly underutilized for how highly searched it is. I've actually found a lot of push back from business owners who claim that by giving away the answers, they will loose out on leads. False. The Strategy of Why "How To" Articles Work User Behavior: A millennial adult will DIY whether they get the information from you or not. But, once they obtain that information, here are two scenarios constantly being ignored. Scenario 1: Most of the time, a user will his a point in the process that is outside of their capabilities or that requires tools too expensive for them to use once or twice. If your information is helpful and easy to understand, that user is more likely to reach out to you for help than look up another business or product. They have already built a trusting relationship with you by approving of your "How To" advice. Scenario 2: If your information is fully transparent and detailed, that user will weigh the pros and cons of attempting this themselves. In seeing the complexity of what should be considered within this "How To" process, there is a strong chance they will convince themselves to use your services. This outcome demonstrates to a user why you are the professional. Conclusion: Business owners, sales teams, and marketers must understand that there are different types of consumer behavior profiles.
