It’s been a while that I want to grab attention to a point regarding that hiring foreign teachers process and attitudes. In my professional working period as an educator which is almost 15 months, I’ve been working with foreigners. I believe teachers from different cultures and backgrounds contribute great things in both students and Turkish teachers professions. And almost 10 years, I’ve been having interviews with foreign teachers to hire or to help them get a teaching position. For a while, there’s an increase of lack of professionalism AND ethics of their attitudes before and after hiring process. They’ve started using addressing such as “sis”, “my dear”, “sister” etc. As an adult most of my first interactions with candidate teachers to correct their addressing mistakes. Plus, when there’s a certain date and hour for a hiring interview, they change their mind daily and most of the time they don’t bother to inform. If we call them and ask them about their attendance, they explain about their excuses. Believe me I can feel that there is no embarrassment while doing that. There are many many more sample that I can share yet I don’t want to miss my point. To any foreign teachers whose aim is to work at a decent, well-known school or institution, please make sure that attitude and simple social interaction rules make more sense than having a teaching certificate or having a masters degree. Is my english weak? Do I write like a kindergarten kid? Well that’s what most of foreign people think that’s why they are called foreign I agree that in Pakistan people don’t have much fluency in English but writers are supposed to be the master of English amd i agree that poor English isn’t going to take tou anywhere in content writing industry. Yes that’s a hard truth to swallow but instead of presenting ourselves and nation as “ineligible” to write, it’s better to make yourself better. ✅Learn ✅Read ✅Write ✅Think That’s going to make you what you are trying to be. Dear Foreigners Not everyone is same. Not everyone can be judged on the same scale. That’s discrimination. Consider tough interviews and test to choose the right candidate because I know, not everyone can deliver the same results.
