(In The Philippines.) She told me to stop meddling when I suggested they add detailed checklists for the team. When I first started TeamUp, we had an amateur recruiting process. So, I hired Lalaine. She threw the amateur process out and built a new one. (In The Philippines.) Now we have a very professional, effective process, and I have nothing to do with it. Some of you may not know I actually hold two different positions here at Capio. Firstly I am of course a consultant helping my lovely clients and candidates in securing new roles or new team members, and the second is... Head of Fun!! 😎 ✨ 💘 Albeit this is not a real role, although I wish it was, I absolutely loveee coming up with different incentives for our Financial Services team and then arranging our monthly or quarterly team treats! A couple of incentives we have had since my long awaited rise to Head of Fun have been bottomless brunch, cocktail making, fancy meals, exciting team building activities and usually lots of celebratory drinks! 🍾 But I have noticed a reoccurring theme of arranging things that are mostly centred around going out out🙁 I was hoping to reach out to my network and hear what incentives you would want for you and your team? What was your favourite incentive ever?? And what should I plan for my teams next incentive???! Any ideas?

OK so I already re-posted this... but! In the last 48 hours I've been bowled over once again by the response rate on LinkedIn! Was helluva year for video production at Piksel! Any production since forever comes with its own unforeseen tiny little issues that really love to test you on the day of shooting. What we've learned and constantly do is maximize time in pre-production in order to minimize time during production: 1. Do extensive and detailed storyboards 2. Try doing videoboards - go on location and shoot the whole video with a phone. Maybe even edit it afterwards. 3. Let the crew do their thing. One person cannot be the director, the DP, the AD, the producer and the editor. 4. Shoot coverage then happily delete it If its never used :)

Happy Holi everyone! 🤗 This year, with some of us away from home, we decided to celebrate Holi together as a team! We had a blast throwing colors (the safe kind ) and sharing some yummy snacks. It might seem silly, but these celebrations really do bring us closer. It's a great way to break the ice with new colleagues, have some laughs with familiar faces, and create a more positive atmosphere in the office. After all, happy team members are productive team members! So, next time you're thinking about a team-building activity, consider something a little different! At a recent year end festive team dinner, I was reminded that the best teams are diverse teams. Not just in terms of gender and race and culture (although that certainly helps) but also in terms of diversity of ideas, thought and work styles. In this way the team will be able to better assess situations from various angles and have more diverse ideas to tackle any issues. Also the ability to assess potential impacts of various proposed solutions increases exponentially with the increased diversity of teams. If you recall recent gaffes by corporates such as tone deaf marketing campaigns, often the situation arises due to group think where the entire team thinks in a same way and no one is able to bring in a different perspective and flag out risks. My view was shaped by my experience in one of my earliest effective teams in PA consulting. We were a diverse team of nationalities with our own skill sets. Our team lead was a soft spoken very intelligent Hong Konger who was the ideas man. We had a tough sergeant from Ghana/London who kept us in line. 2 Uber tech experts from France and the UK who could Code anyone under the table. A sweet functional specs designer from Côte d’Ivoire. And our secret weapon, a soft spoken lady from Australia who could calm the raging seas with her voice. we looked and sounded nothing like each other but we made for a great team. You all know who you are if you’re reading this 😊 Across my career, I have seen the same effect of the whole being greater than the sum of its individual parts in a diverse team. Whenever this diverse team has had a common purpose, it’s allowed us to achieve great things. Whether it was at OSK Research and winning the best small cap team and most independent team or at Etiqa investment and becoming a desired place of work for the industry and still continuing into my current teams. A diverse team and a common purpose is a winning strategy. Besides having a common purpose, there is an even better way to build an effective team from diverse individuals. But that’s a story for another day 😊

To get to know our team members more quickly and accurately, we decided to use a playful model by Thomas Erikson called Color Typology. Although we’re still on this journey, here are some initial results: • You gain insight into your own behavior. • You understand why others might behave in ways you don’t like (remember, it’s not personal). • We all exhibit patterns that are deeply ingrained. • To overcome frustration, you need to change those patterns. • Achieving this requires consciousness, awareness, and willingness. Curiosity. If I were to describe the emotion which led me through first two weeks in Notino that would be the word. I haven’t experienced it in such a high saturation for really a long time. What causes it? Almost six Years spent in L'Oréal helped me to get to know european Health & Beauty market inside out. When You work on multiple strategic business partnerships at some point You just realize that not much can surprise You. What was surprising me for all this time was the tempo of Notino gaining new (satisfied!) consumers and engaging them into long lasting relationship. Believe me, it’s not that common for our industry. In fact it surprised me so much that it made me want to join these Rebels. Fast forward to 6 months later and together with Pawel Matecki we get onboarded by Bartosz Kliś and His Marvelous Crew and we already know that there wasn’t an ounce of coincidence in Notino’s recipe for success. I’m amazed how consequently the strategy for next 5 Years is being implemented and how data driven the process is. It made me realize that I joined the Company right before the moment of introducing the completely new standard of Consumer Experience to Beauty Industry and I couldn’t be happier to be the part of it. Especially when we’re provided with such an effective way of exploring what’s behind. It’s a super valuable experience which makes You feel the part of the Winning Team from the very first moment and ecourages You to score Your first goals right on. Regarding the onboarding process I also have one observation. What other companies promise to their new joiners, Notino delivers! Let’s be honest, it’s also not that common these days😉
