The Austin tech legends in the room were countless. I've never seen an event bring out the "who's who" in Austin technology like I witnessed yesterday. Congrats to all those who were honored this year, and make a note to nominate deserving leaders next year! Thanks for organizing an amazing event • Thom Singer, CSP 🌟 and it's great to see Austin Technology Council back as a motivating force in our city!

Last night was the first annual “Austin Tech Hall of Fame” and “First Time FounderAward” event- hosted by the Austin Technology Council. 180+ people showed up for the over-sold/sold out event. (all the tickets sold out in 8 days last month - thus next year we may have to go bigger!). We honored eight foundational/legacy inductees…John Sibley Butler , Michael Dell, Lori Hawkins, Bobby Inman, Laura Kilcrease, George Kozmersky, Jimmy Treybig, and James Truchard. We also announced the 2024 Austin Hall of Fame Inductee- Joyce Durst and the 2024 First Time Founder Award winner Ashley M. Rose. We had open nominations in April and received over 60 nominations from the community. There are so many people who helped grow Austin’s tech scene and so many others who are doing that now! We look forward to all the future years of this event as we continue to celebrate the past, be present in the now, and look to the future future! As one of the inductees said - it is important to know the past - and then looking forward is key to our community’s success. I learned a lot organanizing this event- and appreciate all the support from people in the community who stepped up with ideas and enthusiasm for the creation of this ongoing program. And thanks to the sponsors who made it possible - KPMG , Egan Nelson LLP, Wells Fargo, Calavista Software, BP3 Global, and GVG Agency. Non-profit organizations cannot do these events with sponsorship of companies who are engaged in helping the community. #austintechhalloffame #austintech #CelebrateAustinTech #community
