Amidst the wealth and the poverty, the diverse cultures and beliefs, a revolution is arising in Indonesia, a revolution produced by lines of code and technology innovation. Fintech has developed rapidly for the past decade and its impactful effects are slowly shaping the financial landscape of Indonesia in the most unrivalled ways. In these modern days, smartphones, gadgets and all technology stuff have become more and more ubiquitous and it is no longer a luxury privilege but more of a necessity. These days life is much more convenient than ever. Fintech has emerged as a beacon of hope and opportunity, it significantly dismantled the barriers that once hindered the access of excluded people to financial services. Imagine a fisherman in Sulawesi or a farmer somewhere in Central Java are now capable to receive payments instantly via a digital bank / mobile wallet or maybe a small business owner in Bekasi, securing a microloan through a peer-to-peer lending platform—all thanks to fintech. Fintech makes finance accessible to anyone. It supports people by providing them the tools and access required to manage their finances effectively and efficiently. Whether it's digital savings accounts with interest rates or even budgeting applications that track expenses in real time. The Government support has been instrumental in monitoring the fintech ecosystem. Regulatory frameworks strike a delicate balance between fostering innovation and safeguarding consumer interests, ensuring a stable and safe environment for both fintech startups to flourish and for the user’s safety. This regulatory clarity has attracted investor, both domestic and international, propelling Indonesia to the forefront of fintech innovation in Southeast Asia. As I stand in the midst of this digital revolution, I am inspired to contribute to its momentum. With a background in data analytics and a passion for leveraging technology to drive positive change, I am eager to achieve my goal which is to harness the power of data to develop innovative solutions that enhance financial accessibility and empower individuals across Indonesia.

[NEW RELEASE: Indonesia's Fintech Lending Report] Statistical data indicates a growing number of borrower accounts in the fintech lending industry since 2018. In Indonesia, this industry has also undergone massive expansion over the past few years, with profit and loss reaching Rp482.52 million in December 2023, a sharp increase from Rp50.47 million in January 2023. However, this figure still needs to be added to the vast potential that the Indonesian fintech lending industry can capture, considering the country's population of over 274 million people. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge, given that fintech in Indonesia is often hampered by legal and regulatory issues. For example, PT Pembiayaan Digital Indonesia (AdaKami) received a warning from the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan regarding debt collection malpractice, which led to an internal investigation of the company. How big is the potential for fintech lending in Indonesia? What is OJK's role in developing fintech lending in Indonesia? What strategies can be implemented to boost the growth of fintech lending in Indonesia? Sustainability is essential for the future of the fintech industry in Indonesia. With a population of almost 300 million people in Indonesia, with large underbanked and unbanked population, digital penetration is increasing. Cash usage is also increasing so how does the payments industry adapt to make it easy for the consumer? Technology is not sufficient alone for innovation. Regulations, rules and good corporate governance are essential for the public to trust the industry and feel protected. Exhibitors and panelists at the Indonesian Fintech Summit & Expo shared products and ideas to embrace an innovate approach to user-friendly delivery with safety, security, simplicity and cost minimization remaining front of mind.
