I think there is no more need to discuss the importance of fighting #climatechange and #biodiversity loss and our shared responsibility, but there is urgent need to align on the pathway forward. At the Forestry & Agriculture Investment Summit earlier this year we had a powerful debate about the relevance of carbon offsetting. “There is a big ball of capital looking to invest in natural capital and nature-based investments in forestry” 🌲 Oliver Hughes comments on the outlook for #forestry globally and the growing demand for #sustainabletimber in an interview with Environmental Finance. Although there are a variety of financing mechanisms, including #carboncredits that could help accelerate capital into forestry markets, there is a lack of progress in meeting #reforestation targets both in the UK and further afield.
