If you missed Microsoft for Nonprofits last week and all the AI hype, if you haven't tried reducing your administrative burden with the help of AI, or if you’re just feeling the fomo, now's your chance to get in! Great article on the use of AI and the blind faith that it is a magic wand. Having been quite involved with #generativeai and I do have my favourites, my cofounder and I are always quick to point out that it is not going to solve world problems and ensure quick fixes. It has its uses and there are many, but the human element is still key. PS: I love having arguments with Gemini and chatgpt always has to have the last word 😀
"Many nonprofits believe AI will solve all our work problems, instantly and painlessly. (It won’t.) Others have outsized fears about it wreaking havoc and supplanting staff. Some organizations are jumping in early; others will wait. But one thing is clear: Nonprofit engagement with AI is necessary and requires thoughtful preparation." - Beth Kanter, Allison Fine & Philip Deng https://lnkd.in/gNv8qN-r

The latest survey from the Chronicle of Philanthropy offers a fascinating look at the evolving relationship between nonprofits and artificial intelligence. While there’s a growing curiosity about the potential of AI to transform operations, fundraising, and engagement, there’s still significant hesitation and uncertainty across the sector. Key findings include: • Caution remains: Many nonprofit leaders are concerned about ethical issues and the displacement of human workers. • AI’s potential: Leaders acknowledge AI’s ability to streamline processes, especially in data management and donor outreach. • Lack of understanding: A gap in AI knowledge and training is slowing down adoption. As AI continues to shape various industries, nonprofits must strike a balance between leveraging these tools for greater efficiency and ensuring their use aligns with core values of trust and community engagement. https://lnkd.in/ehrWq3Hm
