Thanks to its 8-hour endurance, the BOREAL drone is particularly effective in detecting #fire outbreaks, assessing immediate danger to determine the need for intervention, and monitoring ground operations to ensure safety. ✈️ 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 BOREAL and SENTINEL recently led a successful #drone surveillance campaign from July to November 2023 in French Guiana, addressing the critical challenge of illegal #fishing. This pre-operational campaign highlighted the capabilities of the drone in #maritime #surveillance scenarios. Out of a total of 100 flight hours, 60 hours were dedicated to maritime surveillance along the Guianese coastline, successfully identifying boats engaged in illegal fishing. 🛥 The success of this campaign is also attributed to the collaboration with Sentinel teams, local partners of BOREAL in French Guiana. Depuis ses origines, le système #drone BOREAL a démontré ses preuves sur le marché scientifique en proposant une plateforme sur lequel l'intégration de charges utile prototypes était simplifiée. En effet, le grand volume disponible, l'alimentation 100w pendant le vol et la stabilité même dans des milieux et des enveloppes de vol difficiles ont permis de faire la différence sur plusieurs projets (Terriscope, Foldout, Eurec4a...). Le système BOREAL grâce à l'expertise de GEMESIS offre désormais la possibilité de transporter en tant que charge utiles tout type de composants essentiel sur les systèmes fonctionnant avec de l'#hydrogène et cela en vu de les tester et de les éprouver en milieu réel. Since its origins, the BOREAL drone system has proved its worth on the scientific market, offering a platform on which the integration of prototype #payloads was simplified. Indeed, the large volume available, 100w power supply during flight and stability even in difficult environments and flight envelopes have made the difference on several projects (Terriscope, Foldout, Eurec4a...). Thanks to the expertise of GEMESIS, the BOREAL system now offers the possibility of transporting as payloads all types of components essential to #hydrogen-powered systems, with a view to testing them in a real environment. Our objective is to be able to experiment and understand the behavior of under hydrogen components.

The operations were conducted under the authority of the prefect of the Guiana region. - Préfecture de la région Guyane 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 ⛵Detection of hundreds of boats engaged in illegal fishing, with some instances leading to documented and secured interventions by the BOREAL #drone. 🌿 Unprecedented success in pinpointing the location of illegal boats concealed in the mangroves when they sensed a threat— An action challenging to characterize when observed from sea level. 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 🔍 Detection of multiple active gold mining sites. 🔥 Identification of around twenty instances of forest #fires, leading to swift intervention, particularly at the site deemed most hazardous. From July to November 2023, our extensive campaign comprised 20 operations including nighttime missions, accumulating over 100 flight hours. These operations, characterized by intensive daily #flights, covered both maritime and terrestrial areas spanning up to 2000 sqkm with a remarkable maximum range of 70 km from the ground station.
