President and CEO at Ericsson

Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming the CEOs of the CEO Alliance to the Ericsson headquarters, where we had stimulating discussions about the importance of economic growth and the Green Deal in enhancing Europe's global competitiveness. It was also a pleasure to exchange ideas with representatives from the Swedish Government and the European Commission. During our discussions, we identified five fundamental principles for European policymakers: 1. Making economic growth and prosperity a top priority. 2. Ensuring that economic growth and competitiveness progress together. 3. Addressing and eliminating legislative and administrative barriers that hinder innovation, financial health, and growth of European businesses. 4. Creating an investment-friendly atmosphere that encourages long-term investments. 5. Establishing harmonized sustainability-related legislative requirements within the EU. I am motivated by the collaborative efforts of the CEO Alliance and am dedicated to driving positive change in Europe through sustainable practices and technological innovation. Together, we can work towards creating a brighter, greener future for future generations. https://lnkd.in/dgt2iV5F #CEOAlliance #GreenDeal #Sustainability #CSR #Technology #Ericsson

Wow - !! Hardly any of these goals can be achieved easily. In fact Europe: Has been falling behind in all industry sectors ( micro electronics/ micro biology/ genome identification/ medical research/ ... now the car industry is under attack) The East-Expansion of the EU means a transfer of prosperity from West to East. Productivity differences within Europe lead to competition between member countries for foreign investments. The EU contract of membership doesn't provide any investment security . The EU faces instead a selling out of their industries to US/Asia. The EU requires every member to agree to major changes in their national parliament = stand still. The very body of the EU is non transparent and in practice a lobby mechanism: - 55000 employees just in Brussels - 22000-25000 lobbyists work permanently towards EU representatives The Green - Deal disappeared over night on the agenda of Mrs von der Leyen after the last 'right wing election' Europe needs probably to go for EU2.0 in order to digest your well formulated Titan - Program . This version agrees then on a common language for its labour market and harmonised social systems allowing for competitive conditions to expand to start with.

Commendable indeed. With the political landscape evolving within Europe, continuity in the agenda towards common goals such as these will go a long ways in enabling stable and sustainable solutions.
