It was genuinely inspiring to witness so many peers and connections honor their previous year’s achievements. This period reminded us of the essence of moving forward, leaving behind negativity to embrace life’s fullness. It was about coming together to acknowledge our collective hard work and dedication. The atmosphere was reminiscent of the times when anticipation for president’s club awards and trips filled the air. The rewards were extravagant and varied, from luxury watches and cars to all-expenses-paid vacations. These tokens of appreciation weren’t just for the individual but extended to their peers and loved ones, enhancing the sense of community and shared success. Company trips varied in scale, some accommodating hundreds, while others were intimate gatherings of a president’s club of five. But regardless of the size, the underlying message was clear – let’s continue to celebrate our achievements, both big and small. The "Vintage Tea Party" - our 3rd reps socials which I have hosted yesterday for our amazing reps was a big success . The venue was dripping with Vintage vibes, setting the perfect stage for a night filled with fun, laughter, and a touch of nostalgic vintage tunes and an atmosphere buzzing with excitement 🤗 Very big thanks to Blessing Wemere and Luke Allen for being an incredible part to make this event a great success. The atmosphere was electric as reps from various backgrounds and courses mingled, sharing stories and building connections. The success of the event was palpable in the air, and it's all thanks to the incredible reps who showed up with enthusiasm and energy. One of the highlights of the evening was our tea-themed game that added a delightful twist to the vintage experience and added an extra layer of enjoyment and friendly competition. I would like to mention my sincere gratitude for Coventry University Students' Union which gave me an incredible opportunity to improve my skills in event planning and event management . I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the reps who attended, bringing their positive vibes and making the event a huge success. Your enthusiasm is what makes these socials truly special. Our reps are really empowered to represent student voice which they consider that it isn't just a choice; it's the heartbeat of a vibrant educational community. The 2024 DEI Awards will be held on September 10 from 4:30 – 8:00 PM. APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! You can nominate yourself, your business, or others to be considered. Application criteria includes sharing how the work has impacted marginalized communities, how it demonstrates a dedication to DEI, how the individual/organization is acting as an advocate or leader for change, measurable outcomes and accomplishments, alignment with the WDM Chamber’s DEI Statement [wdmchamber.org], sustainability of efforts, overall innovation and impact of work, and more. I'm still buzzing from the opportunity to see Jude and Marcus speak 2 weeks ago. I left the event inspired about the work that we do and how to continue to push the conversations forward on how we treat and use data in our day to day work. As Dr. Marcus Collins challenged us..."We don't see the world as 'what' it is, we see the world as "WHO we are". Noodling on that will expand your horizons of how you approach the work that you do regardless of part of the 'organization' you are with. I'm left with these additional nuggets of wisdom from the talk from both Dr. Marcus Collins and Judith Carr-Rodriguez... 1 - Consumption is a CULTURAL act. 2 - Don't mistake information for intimacy. 3 - Shakespeare was right - "All the world's a stage, and we are merely [SOCIAL] actors." 4 - Stories of 'failure' generally result in stories of innovation. 5 - Don't confuse kindness with weakness. 6 - Good storytelling and creativity is 'messy' - it is likely clear at the beginning, messy in the middle and magical by the end. 7 - The messy middle is necessary! 8 - Sometimes the obvious isn't obvious until it's pointed out. #alwayslearning #4As

🏀Would it be labeled as unorthodox content if I post this video on LinkedIn❓ People always exhibit their accomplishments, achievements, & success stories. But hardly speak about what drives them to reach the end goal, and if they honestly loved the journey reaching the goal. 📌Any event would be successful, only if you exert every single ounce of your effort, and eagerness to learn something from it. A man who loves walking would walk farther than the man who loves destination. 📌What does a journey consist of? Sucking at something, failing, getting better, failing again, thinking quitting, learning, going back to square one, starting over and doing it again. And when you fall in love with the journey, everything else takes care of itself. 🧷Find what's in common. 🧷Don't just work because you have to. 🧷Love what you are doing right now. 🧷Love everyone on your team who is passionately committed as much as you are. 📌Personally, this enthusiasm constantly motivates me to keep going even when I am getting tired. I love the variety. Every day is different, and I get to interact with such varied groups of people in every event I attend. And this is what ensures that I am always learning. 📌You know it when you don't feel alive once you go back home, you feel alive while you’re sorrounded by people you cherish.
