Threshing #Camelina Oil Crop Upon the culmination of the Camelina harvest, a sacred rite unfolds: the dance of threshing, where seeds are liberated from their earthly bonds. After the Camelina crop has been harvested, the crucial next step is threshing, the process of separating seeds from the chaff. Threshing Camelina involves applying gentle pressure to the harvested plants to break open the seed pods and release the seeds. Following the threshing stage, the seeds undergo a cleaning process to remove any remaining chaff and debris. This cleaning can be accomplished using screens or air blowers to separate the heavier seeds from lighter materials. Once the seeds are purified, they are ready for storage or further processing. After threshing, cleaning and grading of seeds with <6% moisture, shall process the farm fresh camelina seeds into #camelinaoil Camelina oil, high in #omega3 with attention to quality on the farm itself. What is a fern exactly? Great question. A fern is a unique primitive plant that evolved about 360 million years ago. It has roots, leaves, and stems just like most plants, but it does not produce flowers like flowering plants, or cones like gymnosperms, instead it reproduces by spores, more like a moss. However, unlike a moss, a fern has vascular tissue that allows them to transport water and nutrients, allowing them to grow much larger than a moss and be less dependent on proximity to a source of water. They also differ from mosses because the branched sporophyte is the dominant phase, where spores are usually produced in small clustered masses called sori, usually visible as rounded rusty-brown lumps on the underside of their leaves.
