As Army Materiel Command Commander Gen. Charles Hamilton and AMC deputy Lt. Gen. At Air & Space Forces Association Warfare Symposium, General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff for the United States Air Force, spoke about "The Change We Need to Win" with a sense of urgency to update / re-optimize processes and to generate integrated, enterprise solutions. Some of the changes announced include: The Department of the Air Force operating model will consist of inserting operators sooner in the process while developing more analytics. Air Education and Training Command (AETC) will become the Airman Development Command (ADC). A Warrant Officer technical track will be created for the Cyber and Information Technology fields as a way to maintain technical leadership with those skills. A new Integrated Capabilities Command will be led by a three-star general who reports directly to the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff. The Nuclear Weapons Center will be expanded to become the Air Force Nuclear Systems Center under Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) and will be led by a a three-star general. The new Information Dominance Center will be led by a three-star general that will focus on Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM), as well as Cyber, Electronic Warfare, and the enterprise-wide information systems and infrastructure. Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICMBs) will be elevated to have a two-star general leading it. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) will change to the Air Dominance Systems Center. An Integration Development Office will be created under AFMC for technology assessment and road maps, and alignment to the operational imperatives. General Allvin parted by stating: "CHANGE IS HARD. What submarines are BAE building? BAE Systems is a major defense contractor that designs and builds various types of submarines for navies around the world. Here are some of the submarines that BAE Systems is currently building or has built in recent years: 1. Astute-class submarines: BAE Systems is building a fleet of seven Astute-class attack submarines for the Royal Navy. The first six boats are already in service, and the seventh boat is currently under construction. 2. Dreadnought-class submarines: BAE Systems is working on the development of the Dreadnought-class ballistic missile submarines for the Royal Navy. The new submarines will replace the current Vanguard-class submarines and will be capable of carrying nuclear missiles. 3. Type 26 frigates: Although not exclusively submarines, the Type 26 frigates being built by BAE Systems for the Royal Navy will have a submarine-like capability, with a submarine-hunting capability and a dedicated space for a submarine rescue chamber. 4. US Virginia-class submarines: BAE Systems is a subcontractor to General Dynamics Electric Boat on the US Navy's Virginia-class attack submarines. The company has worked on the design and construction of several Virginia-class submarines. In addition to these specific projects, BAE Systems also provides various submarine-related services, including maintenance, repair, and upgrade (MRU) work, as well as support for submarine operations and training.

Doubling Down in the Senate The Senate Armed Services Committee of the United States Congress held a posture hearing on the North American continent with General Gregory M. Guillot, Commander NORTHCOM/NORAD, and General Laura J. Richardson, Commander SOUTHCOM on Thursday, March 14th. Defense against hypersonic missile defense threats of the United States was addressed. “I view hypersonics as perhaps the most destabilizing threat that we have out there because of the fast speed and more than that the maneuverability and the unpredictability on where it will impact as opposed to a ballistic missile which is fairly predictable. I've worked very closely in my short period of time with MDA and I'm pleased with some of the efforts that they're doing to intercept in the Glide phase and then also using existing systems such as the SM-6 to adapt against that threat and then I'm also very pleased with MDA is doing with the HBTSS, the satellite capability to detect and track hypersonics. Just yesterday we heard from a senior analyst with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center - he told Congress, ‘China now has the world's leading Hypersonic Arsenal.’ So, given the pace that we're seeing with Russia and with China as they Advance their hypersonic weapons program, should the department accelerate the development of those hypersonic defense systems…” -General Gregory Guillot, Commander NORAD/NORTHCOM “The People's Republic of China remains our pacing challenge as the People's Liberation Army modernizes and grows at a rapid pace. The PRC's expanding nuclear capability and capacity alongside its development of modern submarines, missiles, and Hypersonic weapons, all present significant challenges for Homeland defense." -General Gregory Guillot, Commander NORAD/NORTHCOM "We can't [invest in just one missile defense program] at all because the adversaries—and multiple adversaries, not just one—are growing very quickly and it really is at an alarming rate. I'm concerned about what we're seeing in the president's budget request for FY 2025; the administration decreases spending for the Glide Phase Interceptor program and it's stating that it's going to be delivered in 2035, yet in the MDA of FY 24 and section 1666, it requires the Missile Defense Agency to achieve an initial operational capability of that program by um December 31st, 2029." -Senator Deb Fischer, Nebraska The United States public requires a Hypersonic Glide Defense now to defend the United States homeland.
