Do you know what you really would like to do for a living? I was far from knowing it when I started studying, and I was still far from knowing it when I was 30 and had almost 10 years of professional experience. What we do for Lena – aiming to discover a drug for her uncurable genetic disease – is seen by many as an act of unconditional love. That would perfectly resonate with Valentine’s day, when it all started with Lena’s diagnosing coming on 14th of February, 2022. I rather prefer however, seeing it as the opening. A new adventure. Not an easy one. Not the one I dreamed of. But one which is surprisingly fulfilling.   After 2 years of a crazy ride to advance science for PACS2 syndrome, we just want more. To contribute further to progress for PACS2, for other ultrarare diseases and to further build amazing community supporting our mission to change part of the rare diseases' world. 🔬🌐 Hugues Contamin, CEO of CYNBIOSE, and Erwan Bezard, CEO of Motac Neuroscience Ltd, recently contributed to an article featured in the journal Le Monde, emphasizing the geostrategic importance of access to primates for scientific and medical research. In this interview, Hugues Contamin and Erwan Bezard share a common vision regarding the need to establish a national strategy promoting access to this resource essential for European scientific sovereignty.  Without such strategy, research companies like CYNBIOSE and Motac Neuroscience Ltd have secured their long-term supplies through direct agreements with breeding centers. This enables them to offer a unique preclinical service for the asessment of biodistribution, efficacy and toxicity of innovative therapies targeting the #CNS, especially #genetherapies and #ASOs. She is the reason. For 2 years, we have fundraised and invested 430k USD to run a comprehensive set of 8 research projects aiming at drug discovery for PACS2 syndrome. It was THE ride. But the good one.
