After nearly two years as temporary Senior Analysis Manager at Norfolk and Suffolk Constabulary, I have been appointed the role permanently from today.
2024 has been a special year for me so far, as my beloved Corinthians Badminton Club won the Playford Trophy in April, my beloved Ipswich Town football club won promotion to the Premier League last weekend, and now this.
Life is not always easy and a great deal of personal resilience is needed whilst on the journey, so you need to celebrate the wins when they come along, in this case three in quick succession.
Chief Constable at Suffolk Constabulary; National Police Chiefs Council lead for Race Religion & Belief; Chair of the Women's Chief Officer Network; Co-chair of Police Sport UK
Nottingham Forest recently hired former referee Mark Clattenberg as their 'referee analyst' which is apparently the first time an English team has done this.
Without a job description to hand it's hard to understand exactly what he will be doing but Mark outlined it as:
'I will help in the understanding of how and why certain decisions are made, prepare pre-match packs on the officiating teams taking charge of their fixtures, and one of my other main aims will be improving the relationship between the club and the PGMOL.'
It seems to have stirred a fair bit of criticism but my take fwiw:
1. We don't know the value of a new idea until someone tries it, so I appreciate the bravery to experiment and try something different
2. As a firm believer in the strategy of 'only is better than best', this is a good example in football and there aren't many in recent years
3. Role clarity, early wins and success definition will be obvious but important aspects of maximising this opportunity and getting org buy-in - the same with any new hire but especially one that many critics will be hoping fails!
Looking forward to seeing this one play out and how competition reacts.

3 bogeys in 4 holes... (what strange words?!?!)
Firstly, yes I agree. What an incredibly strange set of words
They refer to the sport of golf ⛳
Yesterday in the USA, a chap called Rory McIlroy was playing a HUGE tournament.
In short summary he made 3 mistakes in 4 golf holes meaning he came second and not first 😪
Think losing in the Wimbledon final, think leading the London Marathon until the last km and getting beat.
Very simply the poor lad will be heartbroken 💔
As a sports fan you really feel for him but, as always, it shows us that it's not over until it is over.
Don't give up.
Keep trying to learn that new skill, perfect that new dish, move up the career ladder etc
...and if you fall short
KEEP GOING
Rory Mcllroy WILL be back. He has all the wealth anyone could ever want and still, without doubt, he will keep pushing forward.
So #begreat
Target your goals, accept the setbacks and keep going 😊

Rising Together: Forging Unity in the Fencing Industry
In the fencing world, true strength lies in unity. The wise words of Joe Everest echo our mission: "𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨."
We must elevate each other, raise our standards, and navigate challenges together.
Yet criticism is inevitable, even from within our ranks. We are not adversaries but allies bound by passion. When one falters, we all stumble. But when united, our collective strength defies any obstacle.
I've faced doubt and discouragement, but clarity shows these are merely hurdles for growth. This realization fuels my commitment to fostering unwavering support and camaraderie.
My fellow fencers, will you join me in forging an unbreakable bond?
Celebrate triumphs, learn from failures, for our greatest strength is solidarity. Together, we are unstoppable.
Who's willing to rise with me and elevate our industry to new heights?

#What#is#Gareth#Southgate's #legacy#as#he#steps#down#as#England#manager? – #video.
Guardian journalist Barney Ronay explains what Gareth Southgate's legacy will be as he steps down as England manager after eight years in the role.
Southgate led England to two finals, a quarter-final and a semi-final and is arguably one of the most successful managers the team has had.
Support by fans took a 'dark turn' however when success became 'expected as a default' and some took umbrage at his politics once England began taking the knee.
Due to this Southgate faced serious scrutiny and his legacy of success will be entwined with the criticism he received.
What is Gareth Southgate's legacy as he steps down as England manager? – video.
England fans may come to regret Southgate’s exit, claims Tom Heaton
Manchester United goalkeeper was coach at Euro 2024.
‘He’s changed the feel of it. MChanged the expectation’
Jamie Jackson in Los Angeles
Tom Heaton believes some fans may regret Gareth Southgate’s resignation, with the goalkeeper who was part of the coaching staff at Euro 2024 stating that people may come to regard the outgoing England manager as having done an “incredible job”.
In eight years in charge, Southgate led England to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and the quarter-finals four years later, and to the finals of Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
Yet uneven form at the last of these caused a sizeable constituency of supporters to vent their ire, with Southgate drawing particularly fierce abuse.
Two days after England’s 2-1 defeat by Spain, Southgate announced his resignation.
The Manchester United keeper was asked if some fans may come to rue this.
“I really do. If you think back to [England’s] track record, I think he’s changed the feel of it,” Heaton said.
“We were all sort of excited to watch the games. We were performing well.
Changed the expectation. I think we will come [to look] back to sort of go, ‘incredible job’.”
Heaton said the squad wanted Southgate to stay. “That would be the case,” he said. “It is very rare in football you get a squad of players, the ones who aren’t playing, especially the ones used to playing every week, that every single person there wants to win it, they want to win it for the manager, he is a leader you want to follow.
I think that would be the mentality. That’s how I feel, you want to win it for him because of what he’s done.”
Heaton, who is United’s third-choice goalkeeper, signed a new one-year contract this month. “To be brutally honest, it has always been a massive driver to play.
I had a couple of discussions with a few other people, but to be true to myself, it didn’t feel right,” he said. “The gut didn’t feel right.
I’ve still got a big hunger to play.
But I am hoping there are going to be opportunities to play.
I wouldn’t sign if I didn’t think I was capable of delivering that.”

Why can’t the best England team in years win a final?
On paper, this is indeed the most exciting England team in a generation. We were even made favourite for the Euros by the bookies, but unfortunately Southgate is tactically inept ….That is the simple truth.
Once again, his very predictable starting 11 tactical choices failed him. We replicated the improved semi-final play, we pressed, but Jude Bellingham looked isolated for extended periods. An unfit Harry Kane at centre-forward was slow and ineffectual AGAIN. The Spain manager noted all of this, he also recognised we had another player who was not match-fit at left back with Luke Shaw.
We ‘luckily’ won our way to the final because of the ‘reluctant’ use of substitutes by the manager which provided the necessary balance and attacking edge.
Yet once again, ONLY in the final 20 minutes, when Ollie Watkins and Cole palmer came on did England find a dangerous attacking formation. They should have started the game, anyone that understands football knew this, that is everyone apart from Southgate … unlike his Spain counterpart.
Instead, England have had to rely on fleeting moments of inspiration from its superstars, but Spain had a system and a highly competent manager to make effective use of such.
So another lost final. But I truly believe the best for England is yet to come 🙏🏼, unfortunately that will never happen with Southgate as manager.
…..Adiós Gareth.

Leadership Coach for Procurement Managers Aspiring to Become Team Leaders 𝕀 Successfully Managed Tenders and Contracts Worth Billions of Dollars 𝕀 Executive Director, Roducate Ltd 𝕀 Mother
Bobby Knight was one of the most successful coaches in college basketball history. He was obsessed with winning and was known for repeatedly steering, albeit drilling every team he coached to victory. Although his ways were unorthodox and criticized, he was one coach who knew exactly what needed to be done to attain and sustain victory. He broke several records, winning season after season, securing national championships and Olympic gold medals time and time again.
A popular quote of Bobby's when asked about his winning streak was; "You don't play against opponents. You play against the gene of basketball." Meaning it wasn't about who else was in the game, it was about developing a deep understanding of the game and using that knowledge to outdo oneself every single time.
Similarly, in the game of tendering and bid writing, it's not about the other bidders who are contending for the same job, it's about developing a deep understanding of tendering processes and bid writing, and then using that information to consistently bid successfully.

Unveiling the drama: Evangelos Marinakis and Nottingham Forest's turbulent football saga

Recently highlighted by their contentious reaction to VAR decisions after a defeat to Everton, the club's aggressive stance continues to stir discussions. Marinakis’ influence is evident, marked by a history of both success and strife, from his time in Greek football to his current role at Forest.
1: What recent actions by Nottingham Forest have caused controversy in the Premier League?
Nottingham Forest have been in the spotlight following a series of confrontational actions, including a post-match tweet critical of VAR, leading to investigations by the Premier League and the FA. The club has also faced fines and a points deduction for various breaches, highlighting their often contentious approach under Marinakis' ownership.
2: How has Marinakis' background influenced his management of Nottingham Forest?
Marinakis' tenure at Nottingham Forest reflects his previous experience in Greek football with Olympiacos FC, where he dealt with success as well as controversy.
